🇬🇧 One for the UK network 🇬🇧 Beane project in Hertfordshire will generate enough energy to power 15,000 homes. RES has submitted a planning application for a 49.9MW solar farm in Hertfordshire. The Beane Solar Farm project is proposed for land west of Cottered village and would contribute to net-zero carbon emission targets while generating enough energy to power 15,000 homes. Sustainability has been a key consideration at the project, with a predicted biodiversity net gain of 98.40% in habitats units, 189.90% in hedgerow units and 10.19% in watercourse units. ☀️ Major trends that shaped U.S. solar energy in 2024 ☀️ 💰 Falling solar module costs, a ramp-up in domestic manufacturing, backed up grid interconnection queues, high interest rates and shifting policies, trade policy enforcement, weather resilience efforts and more have guided the solar industry to where we stand today. 🔌 In 2024, solar continued to represent the largest share among technology types for new electricity generation capacity brought online. According to the Energy Information Administration, over 64% of new capacity added to the grid through three quarters in 2024 was solar. ☀️ Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) reports that the U.S. installed 220 GW of solar cumulatively, with more than 10% of the cumulative total brought online in 2024 alone. SEIA estimates that over 10,000 solar businesses operate in the U.S., employing nearly 280,000 people and representing an estimated market value of roughly $64 billion. Well over 5 million solar arrays have been installed in the U.S., from small systems consisting of few panels to large power plants comprised of millions of panels. Vestas 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 342𝐌𝐖 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐒 🍃 Vestas has received a 342MW order in the United States as part of its Q4 intake 🍃 Invenergy has made the order for the Alle-Catt Wind Energy project. The deal is for V150-4.5MW turbines. It also includes a 10-year servicing arrangement.
