I’m really interested in the background of gasification-technology development in the UK, both for waste and biomass processing. The different types, the reasons they failed, how they were fixed, when people pulled the plug etc etc.  Here’s the first in a series I’m writing on these plants, starting with Swindon-based Advanced Biofuel Solutions Ltd (ABSL) and its CEO Andrew Cornell. 📊💻 A vital issue for our industry is finally being address through an official channel. The Dutch Emissions Authority (NEa) has alerted it will investigate non-compliance with mass balance rules for biofuels, following “serious signals” of certified companies not following the rules. (the NEa newsletter can be found in the comments) ❗️Immediate action is needed to stop this mass balance anomaly that creates market distortion, lowering domestic #biodiesel prices and negatively affecting the EU’s efforts to decarbonize the #transportsector. 🔎 The system should leave no room for exploitation and ensure that the same rules apply to all participants. Any violation by market participants should be quickly detected, isolated, and addressed by relevant authorities.   As an association we are working tirelessly to achieve this for our members and the industry at large.
