About us
Resilience Conference is a curated event that will bring together international startups, investors, and customers in security, defence, and resilience. The event serves as a conduit for NATO and Allied Governments and primes to engage directly with the startup founders and investors who are creating the modern defence innovation ecosystem. This small team worked together on events around the world, producing some of the most impactful and innovative technology conferences. We want to turn our skills to helping the tech sector help make our democracies safer from the threats that now face us. Our contribution is to do what we know best - bringing together startup ecosystems to network, learn from each other, and share their lessons with the wider tech sector through media coverage.

A great piece from Larisa Brown this morning - from the origins of why Anduril was formed to why they know the UK is a fantastic place to build and grow the business. It's also great to read the recognition of the fantastic pipeline of talent here in the UK, ready and willing to support the permanent R&D efforts required to build us vital sovereign solutions. "As for what he plans to do next, well, there’s the recently announced “hyperscale” facility in Ohio, Arsenal-1. The five million sq ft plant, which will generate more than 4,000 new jobs, is designed to produce tens of thousands of drones per year. Anduril’s grand plan is to “rebuild the arsenal of democracy”. "He would like Britain to have its Arsenal-2." Read all about Anduril and how they're growing to support the UK customer here: https://lnkd.in/ebxPc69V

The opening panel of our event in Munich, The Future of Defence Tech Manufacturing & Innovation, featured Nataliia Kushnerska, CEO of BRAVE1, Sille Pettai, CEO of SmartCap, and John R., Chief Adoption Officer, NATO Innovation Fund (NIF). It was moderated by Liz Young McNally, Deputy Director, Commercial Operations, Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). This discussion highlighted the urgent need for faster, scalable, and more innovative defence manufacturing across Europe. Ukraine is rapidly developing and deploying innovative wartime technologies, Estonia’s SmartCap and the NATO Innovation Fund are investing in future-ready solutions. However, procurement inefficiencies, supply chain vulnerabilities, and outdated financial models remain major barriers. Collaboration between governments, startups, investors, and academia will be key to reshaping European defence manufacturing for the future. Read excerpts from the panel on Resilience Media. It was moderated by Abigail Desjardins, Global Partnerships, Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). Excerpts from the panel are on Resilience Media which you can read by following the link below. This conversation covered the challenges to scale manufacturing, the significance of design for manufacturing, and the unique hurdles in entering the European lethal weapons market. The panel underscored the importance of anticipating market needs and called for the defence sector to embrace newcomers to drive transformative change. The session concluded with actionable recommendations, including the establishment of NATO standardisation for drone platforms and investment in accessible, mass-produced defence products. The U.S. DoD is preparing changes that will radically alter acquisition and shift it from hardware centric to software centric: Once rolled out at scale this will be a game changer at the DoD and will also change how companies go to market. Despite everybody talking about software, a lot of companies have defaulted to a hardware-led go-to-market because of the friction in acquisition. At Auterion we're taking the long view: We have resisted to build drones, which puts us in a position now to help the warfighter to break vendor lock, avoid stove pipes and create true interoperability on the edge. https://lnkd.in/ehU8QpJf

Unsurprisingly, funding was a common theme across all of the panels during The Future of Defence Tech Manufacturing & Innovation event. Together with Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) we curated an exceptional panel of experts to hear their solutions to the problem financial barriers holding back innovation. Check out the panel featuring Eveline Buchatskiy, Kelly Chen, and Rob Murray MBA to hear their thoughts on how to make better funding of defence tech a reality in Europe and across NATO allies and partners. https://lnkd.in/di2gTvYQ
