It's also great to read the recognition of the fantastic pipeline of talent here in the UK, ready and willing to support the permanent R&D efforts required to build us vital sovereign solutions. "As for what he plans to do next, well, there’s the recently announced “hyperscale” facility in Ohio, Arsenal-1. The five million sq ft plant, which will generate more than 4,000 new jobs, is designed to produce tens of thousands of drones per year. Anduril’s grand plan is to “rebuild the arsenal of democracy”. This discussion highlighted the urgent need for faster, scalable, and more innovative defence manufacturing across Europe. Ukraine is rapidly developing and deploying innovative wartime technologies, Estonia’s SmartCap and the NATO Innovation Fund are investing in future-ready solutions. However, procurement inefficiencies, supply chain vulnerabilities, and outdated financial models remain major barriers. The U.S. DoD is preparing changes that will radically alter acquisition and shift it from hardware centric to software centric: Once rolled out at scale this will be a game changer at the DoD and will also change how companies go to market. Despite everybody talking about software, a lot of companies have defaulted to a hardware-led go-to-market because of the friction in acquisition. At Auterion we're taking the long view: We have resisted to build drones, which puts us in a position now to help the warfighter to break vendor lock, avoid stove pipes and create true interoperability on the edge. https://lnkd.in/ehU8QpJf
