About us
Rethink Technology Research has established itself over its 21-year history as a thought leader in wireless & telecoms, video & digital media, and energy transition & renewables.
Since our formation in 2002, we have become established and well-known for our independent thought, always challenging the status quo. We don’t sugar coat the truth no matter how tough or challenging the future looks.
Our philosophy is simple. Assessing technology requires experience, perspective, and an understanding of where technology is right now and what it will do in its next generation. Our longevity gives us the edge in knowing how markets develop, age and die, and we can spot which of these phases an industry is currently in.
We are perhaps best known for our weekly research services, Wireless Watch (wireless networks, cellular, operators and spectrum), Faultline (video networks, OTT, pay TV and broadband) and Rethink Energy (disruption in renewables.) Additionally, we publish a series of long-range technology forecasts for each sector, analyzing new business models and the core underlying technologies.
Rethink Research is now globally sought after for consulting assignments after achieving huge successes with some of the biggest technology companies by solving some of the most painful problems. Rethink has also helped the newest and freshest businesses take off and watched them grow into their own. Vodafone Idea finally launches 5G in India India’s third-place MNO has set its launch date for its new 5G network. Vodafone Idea Limited will begin activating 5G sites in March, but it is now a very long way behind its rivals – with Reliance Jio having 148 million 5G customers, and Bharti Airtel on 105 million. The MNO added 46,000 new sites in 2024, and expanded capacity at 58,000. It has not broken out what proportion of the new sites were 5G deployments, however. Vodafone Idea is mainly using a mix of 3.5 GHz C-band spectrum and 1.8 GHz for 5G. #5G #5Gdeployments #network
