An integral part of our “Future Genesis” campaign for Oakley was nailing the MGFX at the heart of the two films. https://buff.ly/3UdbwtM Our Head of Motion Design, Ross Sneddon, shared his insights on the process, as we look back on a year since releasing the project this #ThrowbackThursday 🪐 "My initial hurdle involved creating an FUI that seamlessly integrated into the spatial context. I wanted to make something organic, with a sense of natural flow, while incorporating mechanical elements. I worked with our character animator to get the FUI seamlessly animate with the hand movements. It was a great problem solving exercise and we created a workflow that felt seamless to both the teams. In the end, the FUI embodies a slight grungy and aged appearance that naturally blends into the environment. We landed on the idea of nodes that are anchored to digital threads. And just like that, another year has gone by! 🚀 The Revenant team got together for a festive celebration last week, starting with a cinema screening of the work we've created over the past 12 months, followed by a night of laughter, magic (quite literally) and dancing that lasted until the wee hours of the morning. 🪩 2024 has been spectacular, all thanks to this wonderful team. 🤘 From receiving the most awards of any of our projects to date for Future Genesis, our collaboration with Kamp Grizzly for Oakley, to growing the Rev family with exciting new hires, wrapping up on our biggest ever project (watch this space), and cooking up some secret developments which we truly cannot wait to share, we couldn't be more proud of all the team has achieved. 2025, we're ready for ya...Well- after a well-deserved break, that is. 🎄
