Today marks World Mental Health Day, highlighting the importance of mental wellbeing especially within the agricultural community which can often be isolating, with high-stress and unpredictable challenges. At RHASS, we understand these challenges and that's why we support organisations like Farmstrong Scotland who provide vital resources and community support for farmers and their families through initiatives like well-being workshops. Our 2024 Nuffield Scholar, Jock Gibson, recently spoke with Farmstrong about the importance of continuing to learn and develop on his farm to improve his mental well being. Thanks to everyone who joined us at St Giles' Cathedral's Harvest Thanksgiving service yesterday, celebrating and recognising the dedication and hard work of those in the Scottish Agricultural community. The service was conducted by Rev Sigrid Marten, Associate Minister of St Giles’ and featured a grain harvester and food produce centrepiece that will be donated to Edinburgh charities to feed nutritious meals to people in need. There are thousands of people who come together to help us make the Royal Highland Show what it is today. Graeme Hodgson manages and promotes the Forestry events that take place at the Show. From pole climbing, axe throwing, chainsaw carving and more, he took a moment to talk about RHASS' support to the forestry industry and the importance of sustainability within forestry machinery for the future.

Across the country, in fields and farms, the final few weeks of Harvest are taking place. Wrapping up months of hard work and signaling the end of the growing season. From cereals to potatoes, apples to onions, it's a pivotal time on farms to collect our wonderful Scottish produce ahead of the winter months.
