Partners in change; lead and work better, together.

About us

We're a consultancy and community of practice working to enable better habits and practices for collaboration in complex change. Working alongside leadership teams across sectors to explore better ways of leading, learning and working together to make change happen. Our work with our private clients helps organisations through periods of change such as leadership transitions, mergers & acquisitions, fast growth and culture change initiatives. Alongside our work in the private sector, we also run various initiatives to support leaders and change in the third sector. Our approach is to partner with leaders to help spot patterns and uncover the stories and hidden dynamics that make individuals, teams, and organisations work the way they do. We help people address the often tricky people dynamics within the unpredictable reality of their context and build skills and capability for moving through change more sustainably and effectively. We are proud to be a certified B Corporation and work hard to model and support the implementation of more human, connected, sustainable practices within organisations and beyond.

The tireless efforts of the small Family Business UK team shone through last night at the House of Lords celebration of #familybusinessweek 👏 Here are some facts for you, (if you're interested) about the critical time the family business ecosystem is currently in. There are 🇬🇧 4.8 million family businesses in the UK 🤗 employing 13.9 million people 💰 contributing more than £200 billion a year in taxes yet, recent tax changes will potentially result in 💸 £29 BILLION loss to the economy 🫂 391,000 job losses 😢 around 16% would have to sell to be able to afford the increased inheritance tax bill ...and more ... read more here https://lnkd.in/e_DWcBwF In admiration of your hard work Neil Davy Martin Greig and team.

What a fantastic evening in Westminster at the Family Business Week reception. Members of Family Business UK and our Partners met with MPs from across Parliament and we were honoured that Dame Harriett Baldwin DBE MP, the Shadow Minister for Business and Trade, and MP for West Worcestershire, agreed to address the reception. There has never been a more important time to shout about the amazing work done by family businesses right across the country supporting jobs, opportunities and growth. It was great to welcome so many of our Members to the House of Lords and raise a glass to them. Family Business Week is now in its 4th year and we a proud that it continues to be supported by NatWest Business #FamilyBusinessWeek #FamilyBizWeek

Jo Wood  started working with us many a moon ago and, since then, has become a wonderful artist, coach, facilitator, and observer of human dynamics. It's a pleasure to have her as part of our community, where she's also hosted our most recent learning wave, all about #connection At our most recent gathering, she sketched drawings throughout the 3 days, helping us to notice things about each other in different ways. Here they are. https://lnkd.in/eECCmjs4 #art #facilitation

Our work draws on a mix of old-age traditions and modern approaches, but one significant influence is the YPO forum process. Implementing a forum-like process into and across your business offers much-needed space for deepening trust, connection and thoughtful reflection - something increasingly important in the pressurised and conflicting world of work today. We've worked alongside many a YPO member organisation to implement scalable peer learning networks across their businesses. If you're interested to find out more, let us know. https://lnkd.in/esaRt6bB #ypo #forum #peerlearning

Megan Taylor ✨ writes about "radical collaboration" in the latest edition of the Women In Change magazine - a term that's spewn around a lot, but we've been looking at what that might actually mean and what it takes in the face of difference, conflicting opinions and an increasingly polarised society. Read the magazine here - https://lnkd.in/eVq8U4Cc #womeninchange #change #leadership

I probably belong to too many communities and networks 🫣 but Women In Change has been one of my favourites this year. I met some incredible women at yesterday's summit and also got my hands on their bi-annual magazine, which I had the opportunity to contribute to... "There's plenty of talk about what should happen but much less about the inner work needed to make it happen. We focus so much on external factors that we forget our own role in maintaining the status quo. It's confronting - no wonder we avoid it. And that's why real, sustained change is rare." Read some super inspiring stories here: https://lnkd.in/eVq8U4Cc Thank you Louise Robey Sarah B. and team for continuing to push the boundaries and for providing such great opportunities and platforms. 🫶 #womeninchange #femaleleadership #leadership

Working with leaders and high-performance teams to strengthen their vision, forge new habits, and develop their understanding of themselves, their teams, and their business.

What brilliant group that joined me and Kerry Sutcliffe for a RISE Beyond | B Corp™ breakfast conversation exploring the challenges that can be experienced being in a Senior People Lead role. This group had not met before, yet had shared experiences, huge amounts of knowledge and expertise and a real desire to connect and learn together. Curating conversations that help groups to make sense of what is going on for them is at the heart of the work we do at Rise. Whether this is in within an organisation, or cross organisations. This breakfast was another reminder that taking the time to connect and collaborate is incredibly valuable. Thanks to all that joined us and made the event such a success. A very big thank you to Jamie Thomas of Cophi, for sponsoring the event and joining us to share his insights on how to engage the top team with real facts, data and analysis that highlight where any investment in people might be best spent. Keep an eye out for our next event! Our last open workshop of the year is this Friday. Join us.

At the beginning of this year, we said we would commit to sharing more of our work more publicly, and I'm so glad that we did. The last open workshop for the year is 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 with Gita-Marie Goldman and myself. This 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 is a chance to explore alternative ways of being, thinking, and relating; getting into what it takes to work better together on our most pressing challenges. My favourite quote from a past workshop: "I can't remember a workshop where I had so many 💡 💡💡 moments and also so many moments of calm." So, if you're needing some calm and 💡 - join us :) https://lnkd.in/exRp9tAx Use the code RISE101 on checkout. RISE Beyond | B Corp™

Sonder... a word that has been doing the rounds on social media this past week - and what a word it is... Coined by John Koenig in The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows (beautiful book!) it's a word that so eloquently captures the complexities, richness and hardships of every single person's life. So much of our work is about creating opportunities for us to get to know each other in less superficial ways - about uncovering the varying experiences, histories, and perspectives that sit around the table - and learning more about how this shapes our interactions and ways of working together. Sonder. Wishing everyone a great week ahead. #wordoftheweek #sonder #collaboration
