Sustainability in Action! This autumn, we have been working on the riverbanks of Sheffield coppicing willow trees to support our ongoing efforts in improving local ecosystems and river health. By carrying out this process, we’re not only increasing habitat diversity along the river, but we’re also enhancing flood conveyance, helping to improve natural flood management. The coppiced willow is now being used to create fascines on a River Stewardship Company Project at St. Catherine's Pond, Doncaster! These bundles of willow will play a crucial role in controlling sediment build-up in the pond, while also providing new habitats for wildlife. It was great to see our two companies coming together to make use of waste material from one project to useful material on another. #Riverlution #WillowCoppicing #Fascines #RiverStewardship
