Idrees’s confidence has gone from strength to strength since he started a Supported Internship within the Post Team at Rotherham Council two years ago🎉 He quickly moved on to gaining a role as an apprentice within the planning team before deciding he wanted to stay at the Council and not work anywhere else. His dream came true when he was successful in gaining a position as a Housing Options Support Officer🏠 Idrees was supported throughout his journey by Supported Internships team. Idrees said: “The Supported Internships with the Print and Post Teams were the best accomplishment and achievement that has ever happened in my life. "I didn’t want to go to university as I felt like it wasn’t for me because I wanted to secure an apprenticeship and permanent position. “I am as ambitious and determined as ever before and I know if I keep motivated and determined that I can go out into the world to gain another apprenticeship or permanent position and gain more skills and experiences along the way.” There is support and services available to young people with SEND as they become an adult.
