Rotherham is proud of its coal and steel heritage and continues to have a strong manufacturing presence in the form of the Advanced Manufacturing Park. Rotherham is well underway with the implementation of its Masterplan for its Town Centre which sets plans for major developments from a vibrant leisure quarter, attractive outdoor spaces and high quality living. The day to day management of the Council and its services is overseen by the Strategic Leadership Team and led by the Chief Executive, Sharon Kemp. "I didn’t want to go to university as I felt like it wasn’t for me because I wanted to secure an apprenticeship and permanent position. “I am as ambitious and determined as ever before and I know if I keep motivated and determined that I can go out into the world to gain another apprenticeship or permanent position and gain more skills and experiences along the way.” There is support and services available to young people with SEND as they become an adult.
