To mark Carers Rights Day 2024, the Royal Borough of Greenwich has launched a brand new guide to empower carers in the borough. 💜 ‘Our Greenwich, Our Carers’ was coproduced with carers and covers a wide range of topics, including access to services, financial support, and mental health resources. The theme of Carers Rights Day this year is ‘recognising your rights’. We hope that this guide will help people understand their rights, including those who may not have recognised themselves as a carer previously. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our collaborators, including the carers who have contributed. 🤝 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eGC9nZXr #CarersRightsDay #OurGreenwichOurCarers

  • Figures show a decrease in reported thefts in September, following collaborative work from the council’s Community Safety team.📱 Local Metropolitan police officers noted the number of phone thefts decreased after the council launched a theft and robbery prevention campaign over the summer which included commissioning an animation video sharing safety tips, installing temporary stencils on the pavement around town centres, and hosting community engagement events. The police particularly noted that raising awareness and providing theft prevention measures to staff and students at Greenwich University had a positive impact in areas of concern. The start of the new school term in September historically leads to an increase in theft and robberies, however the number of phone thefts were down to 24 in September, compared to 36 in the month before.
