Last month, in partnership with 100 Women In Finance and Simmons & Simmons, we had the privilege of co-hosting Tom Hardin —a former Wall Street insider turned FBI informant and global ethics advocate. Tom’s candid and thought-provoking talk took us on a journey through his unique career path, from financial analyst to undercover whistleblower in Operation Perfect Hedge, the largest insider trading investigation of its kind. His story was not only a cautionary tale but also a powerful reminder of the behavioural and cultural risks organisations face today. The audience was captivated as Tom shared invaluable insights into decision-making under pressure, the grey areas of compliance, and how organisations can foster a culture of ethical conduct. The evening wrapped up with an engaging Q&A session and networking over drinks and canapés. A huge thank you to Tom, our partners, and all the attendees for making this event such a success!

A change of government has ushered in a new Chancellor of the Exchequer. Keen to make her mark, Rachel Reeves has set out her regulatory priorities and how she intends working with the regulators. In addition, a group of parliamentarians have published a scathing report on the FCA, arguing that the regulator is not fit-for-purpose. Arguably, the Financial Conduct Authority has just experienced one of the more difficult months in its 11 1/2 year existence. Read about this, and more, in our November 2024 regulatory newsletter... #MonthlyNewsletter #compliance #fca #RQCGroup
