Right now, the UK Government is considering cuts to the nature-friendly farming budget. ❌🍃 This would be a disaster for nature, farming, and our future. Sign the petition and tell the UK Government: Nature can’t afford a pay cut. 👇 https://lnkd.in/eAQ_JeuT

About us
Passionate about nature, dedicated to saving it. Since we started on our mission in 1889, the threats to nature have continued to grow, but we've grown to meet them too. We’re now the largest nature conservation charity in the UK (although our work stretches far beyond that), consistently delivering successful conservation, forging powerful new partnerships with other organisations and inspiring others to stand up and give nature the home it deserves.

Take a breath, and escape. A Kingfisher waits, still and focused. Two meet, calls ringing softly against the rush of the current. A sudden dive - water ripples and the moment shifts. A perch, a catch. A shimmer of blue plunges once again into cool water, droplets scattering into the mist. Our Kingfisher rises, flying downstream into the quiet. #RSPBNatureBreak

We interrupt your scroll with some good news! 💚 Thanks to the purchase of a final piece of land at RSPB Geltsdale, the reserve is now fully secured for nature. That means over 5,500 hectares of habitat for wildlife, and a future where it can thrive: more woodlands for Cuckoos, Black Grouse and Red Squirrels; rivers running clear for Otters and amphibians; wildflower-rich hay meadows alive with pollinators and bursting with birdsong; restored moorland and wetlands welcoming back Hen Harriers, Curlews, Short-eared Owls, and more. Now, we can go further…more woodlands planted, bogs revitalised, and wetlands restored to give even more wildlife the space it needs. This is a huge moment. And it’s just the start. 👇

Jus' a lil Pygmy Hippo doing Pygmy Hippo things… 🦛 They may be tiny (for a hippo), but Pygmy Hippos play a huge role in the Gola Rainforest, shaping their environment as they move through the undergrowth. With fewer than 2,500 left in the wild, every sighting is special - and a sign that conservation efforts are working. Through camera trap monitoring, habitat protection, and community-led conservation, RSPB and partners are working to safeguard these rare creatures and the landscapes they call home. Watch this special glimpse of a Pygmy Hippo in the wild and read more about our work in Gola: https://brnw.ch/21wQInn 👈 #WorldHippoDay
