  • 3 Iconic landmarks in one photo. The Walkie-Talkie, our Trimble X9, and The Shard  😉 One of the joys of our work is getting to see the city from new angles every time. Safe to say, this will never get old! 🤩 Whilst we love the views across the Capital, Ruxton's expertise stretches to every corner of the UK and beyond. • “This year’s goal was simple. Grow a big moustache." 🏆 The results are in, and our Survey Manager Joshua has run away with it for our Movember efforts. "It's one of only two times a year I'm allowed to grow one: Movember and 2000 Trees music festival. I've been a long term admirer of Ming the Merciless, and I that’s evident in my styling this year. As expected, my wife detests it but that’s the price I’m willing to pay.” If you went one better this Movember, we’ll await the evidence… #Movember #Mensmentalhealth #Menshealth

  • We can’t stress this enough: a healthy work-life balance is essential. While the term work-life balance has been around for years, it’s still undervalued in too many industries. At Ruxton, it’s a non-negotiable that our team feels empowered to be present for what matters most outside of work. Need to be somewhere important? Go. Need to recharge? Take the time. In a modern society that glorifies 'the grind' and 'hustle', it’s easy to lose sight of a simple truth: We work to live, not live to work. 👏 #WorkLifeBalance #Wellness #Productivity

  • Combining BIM, CAFM, and proactive management is hugely important when it comes to making to sustainable choices for our future, and here’s why… 1️⃣ Data-driven decisions: With BIM and CAFM, real-time data allows for precise energy management, cutting emissions and resource waste. 2️⃣ Proactive Maintenance: Predictive analytics extend equipment lifespans, reducing replacements and inefficiencies. 3️⃣ Significant Savings: By adopting this approach, companies can drive carbon reduction and increase operational efficiencies. At Ruxton, we’re super passionate about aligning building performance with environmental awareness. Smarter decisions around energy use and maintenance can lead to cost savings and, more importantly, a better built environment and a better world. 🌍 #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #BIM #CAFM

  • Are you torn between Revit and AutoCAD for your next project? 💭 We’ve broken down the advantages and challenges of each to help you decide... Revit - Perfect for large-scale projects requiring detailed BIM, such as architectural design, construction management, and facility management. AutoCAD - Ideal for projects needing precise 2D and 3D drafting, such as mechanical design, civil engineering, and detailed technical schematics. We love both at Ruxton - Which do you prefer? 🤔 #BIM #Revit #AutoCAD

Director at Ruxton | Transforming the built environment with geospatial innovation

1 year ago today - I decided I'd had enough. I didn't like what I saw in the mirror. In fact, I stopped looking in the mirror out of shame. 😬 I felt uncomfortable in social situations and most of all I felt like I was letting myself and others down. Fortunately, I decided to make a change, and here's what I've learnt along the way...   ⚡ Nothing drastic needs to change   You don't need a drastic diet plan or intense training to achieve a transformation. Progression comes from adding that 1% everyday. Making a different choice on certain foods or, in my case, just drinking 1 pint instead of 10!   ⚡ Share your journey with your loved ones   Your friends and family care. They understand why you're doing what you're doing and will hold you accountable to it. They will motivate you when you're feeling down, and if they don't... well you might need to fix that as well! ⚡ Invest in the journey not the outcome   One of the biggest challenges was to understand this had to be a lifestyle change. I wanted the new version of me to stick. Embracing the moment and being present each day was far more fulfilling than the direct physical results, and the best thing about it is that you can keep enjoying it if you keep showing up with no definitive end goal. If you ever want an ear when it comes to tackling your own journey then I'd love to chat! 💪

  • Did you see this in the news? 🔍 While analysing historical LiDAR data, scientists recently uncovered a lost Mayan city, now named Valeriana, hidden deep within the jungles of southern Mexico.   LiDAR pulses taken from aircraft allow scientists to see variations in measurements that penetrate the immediate vegetation and observe the ground and potential structures beneath. In Mexico’s dense jungles, this has been a game-changer, uncovering insights into ancient civilisations once thought lost to time. Professor Marcello Canuto of Tulane University shared that the extensive data collected, “will allow us to tell better stories of the ancient Mayan people.” How cool is that?! 🤩 https://lnkd.in/eeshTDd9 #LiDAR #LaserScanning #MayanCity
