🚀 FTC 2024 Keynote: Prof. John Collomosse on Generative AI & Content Provenance 🎥 At #FTC2024, Prof. John Collomosse, Principal Scientist at Adobe Research, delivered an insightful keynote that explored the rapidly evolving world of generative AI and the critical role of content provenance in ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability. Generative AI, which has been around for over a decade, is now capable of creating increasingly realistic content—from text-to-image to video generation. Collomosse outlined how massive datasets and the careful understanding of data sources and consent are driving these advancements. However, with this rapid progress come significant challenges. AI systems often reflect biases, can memorize copyrighted content, and may contribute to the rise of misinformation. To address these concerns, Collomosse highlighted the work of the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), which is developing an open standard for content credentials.
