Hospitality

A non-profit enterprise disrupting the traditional hospitality routes to sourcing employees.

About us

Saira Hospitality is a non-profit enterprise, creating viable partnerships between communities and luxury hotels by empowering locals and providing hotels with a committed workforce. Partnering with luxury and lifestyle hotels to create bespoke pop-up hospitality schools to educate members of local communities for employment in hospitality positions from line level to mid-level. We educate and equip students with the knowledge and life skills needed to create a career and build a future in the hospitality industry. Content features key topics such as tangible and intangible service qualities, loyalty programs, turnover, service recovery, mindfulness, and wellness, cultural, and emotional intelligence is taught in addition to a focus on soft skills, experiential learning, and communication skills. We further identify the future hiring needs of partnering hotels and incorporate as much of the brand's orientation, culture and training as possible into the high-quality curriculum content so students at the end of the program form a pool of well-trained, local labor for the brand to hire. Above all, Saira identifies members of the local community with the hospitality gene being the desire to serve. At Saira, we set out to prove that through community education, turnover rates in the hospitality industry can be greatly reduced on a global scale.

  • “Everything I’ve studied, all the lessons I’ve been going through, all my trainers, they’ve made me feel very confident. I feel much more confident than I was” Meet Hishamy. Positivity, patience and empathy are just some of the words that spring to mind when looking back at our time with him. Hishamy enrolled on the St Giles Hotels Hospitality Academy not knowing if the industry was right for him, but we knew the moment we met him. After completing his training, Hishamy is now working with our partners Leonardo Hotels, where we know he will go from strength to strength. We caught up with Hishamy at his graduation ceremony to hear about his journey.

  • We're huge fans of Hospitality Daily. Over the years, Josiah Mackenzie has provided us a platform to share our work and passion for uplifting the hospitality industry. Last week, our Chief Operating Officer Greg Früchtenicht, spent some time with Josiah to share our newest launch, Saira Connect... Our industry has a rejection rate of 95%. Do you ever wonder what happens to those rejected candidates? Or why they were rejected in the first place? Saira Connect re-imagines the candidate journey by turning rejections to referrals and supporting unsuccessful applicants with a pathway to expert-training and onwards career matching. If you're interested in learning more, enquire at https://lnkd.in/gKHA3u5d, but don't forget to listen to this episode first.

Today, Greg Früchtenicht shares a new challenge he's seeing in London: "95% of hospitality job applicants are not making it to the interview stage." This presents both a challenge and an opportunity... Bit of context: Greg, the COO at Saira Hospitality, shared that while the post-COVID operating environment faced a shortage of applicants, today's one-click job portals have created the opposite problem. Hotel groups are receiving thousands of applications, but with automated rejection systems kicking in after just 14 days, countless talented individuals are slipping through the cracks. The hidden opportunity? Many rejected candidates bring valuable experience from parallel industries. Greg shared examples of professionals with 10+ years of experience initially overlooked in the traditional screening process. Saira Hospitality's solution? Saira Connect – transforming rejection emails into referrals. Through human screening, expert coaching, and personalized workshops, they're helping match this hidden talent pool with better-fitting opportunities while strengthening employer brands. 🎧 Listen to Greg explain this further today on the Hospitality Daily Podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts or here: https://lnkd.in/gm3eYtZM What's your take: Are you seeing similar challenges with high application volumes in your hiring process? How do you ensure great talent doesn't slip through the cracks? ♻ Repost this with your thoughts to help someone else ➕ Follow Hospitality Daily here for more stories like this

  • “It gave me more clarity of a path for my career” When supplemented with the right training, a work experience placement can be the key that unlocks potential. Never has this been truer than with Paul. For four days, Paul joined the 1 Hotels Mayfair team and learned everything there is to know about working Front of House, supported 100% of the way by Front of House Manager Jack McCarthy MIH and his team. We’re so happy to announce that this week Paul started his new career with 1 Hotel Mayfair and we can’t wait to see where his hospitality journey takes him. Stories like this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our trusted partners St Giles Hotels. SH Hotels & Resorts Francois-Xavier Halyna Korzhenovska

We’re constantly evolving our curriculum to align with excellence in the hospitality industry. For our most recent St Giles Hotels x Saira Hospitality Acdemy, we’ve had the honour to work with the Forbes Travel Guide Learning & Development team, who have given our trainers access to deliver their daily “Service Energizers”. Service Energizers are daily activities and conversation starters designed to inspire hospitality teams, and we can report that they’re having the desired effect. Each exercise takes just a few minutes and truly brings to life the principles of service excellence. Knowing that they are taking part in the same daily Energizers as FTG hotels worldwide has fostered a deep sense of connectedness amongst our students. This doesn’t just improve their learning journey, but also prepares them to experience this sense of community firsthand as they embark on their new careers in hospitality. A huge thank you to the Forbes Travel Guide team for their support Megan Torrance William E. Avitia Stuart Greif

"I feel I became a different person when I started Saira Hospitality" Meet Stan, enthusiasm and kindness personified. Stan enrolled in our St Giles Hotels x Saira Hospitality Academy after being referred by our partners at Beam, and from day one we knew he would excel during his time with us. Always curious to learn more and willing to go the extra mile, we caught up with Stan during his work experience with the Concierge team at St Giles Hotel.

  • We don’t often host night classes, but when we do we want them all to be at The Social Company (Jason Atherton Restaurants) Last week we stepped out of the classroom and into Jason Atherton’s remarkable new opening, Sael, to celebrate our learners’ achievements during the St Giles Hotels x Saira Hospitality Academy. Hosted by their wonderful Restaurant Manager Tom, learners weren’t only treated to a masterclass in modern British cuisine, but also had the opportunity to soak up all of Tom’s wisdom and advice about the industry. A huge thanks to the entire Sael team for their unforgettable hospitality.
