2024 was not just another chapter, it was a cornerstone in reshaping business practices and organizational behavior, setting the stage for years to come. We saw four key trends that defined the year: 👾 Generative AI (GenAI) Becomes a Workplace Staple Though GenAI tools have been available to the public since around 2022, 2024 marked their mainstream adoption. Tools like ChatGPT, Gemini/Bard, Claude, and Llama, alongside aggregators like Perplexity, Poe, TabNine, and Hugging Face, are now integral to daily workflows for countless employees. For instance, ChatGPT’s monthly active users more than tripled this year alone. These technologies are not just productivity enhancers, they’re paving the way for a seismic transformation in how we work. What we’ve seen so far is merely the prelude to a revolution. 🪴 Gen Z Steps Up as a Workforce Powerhouse With Gen Z now a significant part of the workforce, their distinct values and expectations are redefining workplace dynamics. According to a Robert Walters study, 72% of Gen Z workers prefer advancing as individual contributors rather than pursuing middle management roles. While this preference may evolve, it underscores the necessity of tailoring support systems and creating innovative ways to harness their contributions. 🗝️ A Sharpened Focus on Measuring Success Data has been a focal point for years, but 2024 brought new urgency to measuring success. In a hybrid world, organizations sought greater oversight and precision. Sophisticated tools and strategies now enable tailored success metrics, while financial pressures demand clear, demonstrable ROI for any investment. Today, no decision within an organization is justifiable without a transparent link to value creation. 🚀 Addressing the Skills Gap with Innovation The skills gap remains one of the most pressing challenges for organizations. A Springboard study revealed that over 70% of leaders see it as a significant obstacle. Gartner’s analysis further highlighted the need for learning that happens “just-in-time,” enabling employees to action their learnings, iterate and adapt effectively. This calls for a complete reimagining of how leadership development is delivered and how teams are empowered to learn on the job. As the complexity of work increases, what comes through is that one of human’s strongest limitations is mindset and their ability to learn and adapt effectively. Reinventing the way people work is intrinsically tied to rethinking how they learn. 2024 was not just a year of change, it was the year of laying the groundwork for a different, more adaptive future. 🌳 Tell us what your biggest takeaways from 2024 are!!! #ai #gartner #leadershipdevelopment #futureofwork

🌍 On World’s Mental Health Day, we recognize mental health as the foundation of both personal well-being and organizational success. The workplace can be a place of support and growth, and it’s up to leaders and teams to make the right choice. Everyone deserves a mentally friendly workplace where they can thrive. 👇 Here are 3 effective ways to support mental health at work: 1️⃣ Foster open conversations: Encourage a stigma-free space where people can talk about their concerns and seek support without fear of judgment. 2️⃣ Encourage diversity of style: Promote and celebrate different ways of working. 3️⃣ Train managers on mental health awareness: Equip managers with the skills to recognize signs of mental distress, offer support, and the tools to the right resources. By making mental health a priority, we create spaces where both people and performance can thrive.

🌍 Our team recently returned from the Gartner Reimagine HR Conference in London, and one thing stood out: HR is evolving beyond managing people, it's about rethinking the employee experience. 🔑 Here’s what we learned: - The rise of empathetic leadership: 79% of CEOs plan to implement growth and transformation strategies by the end of 2024. Leaders who embrace empathy and focus on cultural connectedness will have the upper hand. - Tech is shaping HR: As Helen Poitevin, VP at Gartner, highlighted, digitally savvy CHROs are using advanced HR tech to elevate human interactions, not replace them. AI takes care of routine tasks, giving HR the space to focus on what really matters. - DEI as a strategic business tool: Leaders must take ownership of DEI outcomes by creating role-specific responsibilities and implementing accountability measures, with DEI experts guiding strategy. - Data-driven HR is the future: From predictive hiring to real-time feedback, data helps improve workforce planning and create personalized employee experiences. Big thanks to Samantha Fath for representing our team and gathering these key insights. The future of work is about empathy, tech, DEI and data. Will you step in? We’re proud to celebrate Pride Month, a time to honor and champion the LGBTQ+ community. When we bring together different backgrounds and perspectives, we spark innovation. True inclusion means creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. At Sama, we strive to embody these principles every day. 👇 How can we achieve this? 1️⃣ Promote awareness and education: Encourage open conversations and provide resources about LGBTQ+ issues. Awareness leads to understanding, which is the foundation of an inclusive culture. 2️⃣ Create safe spaces: Foster a culture of respect and understanding where every employee feels safe, respected, and able to be their authentic self without fear of judgment. 3️⃣ Support and empower: Actively listen to feedback from LGBTQ+ employees to understand their needs and challenges, ensuring their voices are heard and valued in shaping company culture. Inclusivity is not just a month-long initiative, it's a sustained commitment to understanding and embracing the unique experiences of each individual.
