It's been a little while since I introduced myself. I'm Sara 👋 (yep, the one in the company name). I live in Axbridge with my 10 year old son, Harvey and our two cats, Lula and Ted. I started my business during lockdown in a 'nothing to lose' scenario. Four years on, I am so happy to have created it and helped small businesses extend their customer base, master their visuals, and perfect their websites. Things I love ☕ Coffee (including an espresso martini!)...this is fairly new to me (I resisted the coffee and chocolate tours of Costa Rica because I didn't like it...) but I do love a latte! 🎸 Music - live, recorded, videos, radio. Music is happiness for me. 🧳 Travelling - I am super speedy at packing that suitcase now! I love exploring and discovering new cities and countries! 🖌️ Getting creative - whether at home or work, I love experimenting with colours Things I don't love 💤 Sleepless nights - two cats fighting at 4am does not bode well with my snoozing 🐐 Goats cheese - yuck! 🤥 Fibbers - seriously what's the point! Over the last few weeks I've been doing something different. I've been complimenting. It wasn't a conscious decision I made. Just one that I did naturally and have continued to do so as I've found a little 'I like your dress', 'your hair looks nice', or a simple 'hello' goes a long way and can genuinely brighten someone's day! 😀 So here's my task for you. Make someone smile. Whether they're a friend, a stranger in the street or someone that's just passing by. Between 1973 and 1997, my grandmother taught at the local primary school. Quite often, people would ask if I was related to her (the Appleton surname) because she'd helped so many people to read, helped with maths, or just part of happy primary school memories during her time there. She was kind of famous in the area. Most knew her well and she had a great memory for names and faces! So when a local sponsor opportunity came up at the school, I couldn't resist getting involved. A 106 year old maple tree in the school grounds had to be felled and the school wanted to use the trunk and boughs in a way that the children could continue to enjoy. They appealed to local businesses to help fund the project by sponsoring a year (set on the school's history). I chose the years closest to when Grandma Jo had worked there 1974 & 1977 (the main ones got snapped up pretty quickly!). The result is just stunning and will bring so much happiness to the children. Dotted around the forest school area is now a beautiful, hand carved Storytime Throne and a collection of Woodland Animal sculptures. Each sculpture is at child height and the throne is an interactive play feature. I'm so proud to have been among the local businesses that have sponsored this project.
