𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 Schwank is proud to have supported NextPharma Logistics in achieving precise temperature stability for their new 7,900-square-metre logistics centre near Dortmund. As a leader in pharmaceutical logistics, NextPharma required an innovative solution to maintain a strict temperature range of +15°C to +25°C for sensitive goods, with a maximum temperature variation of just 3°C across an 11-metre-high storage area. To meet this challenge, Schwank installed 17 air-to-air heat pumps and 13 HVLS fans (MonsterFans). The heat pumps provide efficient heating and cooling, while the HVLS fans ensure uniform air distribution, eliminating temperature stratification and preventing cold zones. The air is distributed via 20-metre-long textile ducts, enhancing energy efficiency. The result? A high-performance HVAC system that not only meets the stringent Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines but also delivers energy savings of approximately 30%. 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 At Schwank, we take pride in delivering innovative HVAC solutions tailored to the needs of leading companies. When Mann+Hummel opened their 17,000-square-metre distribution centre in Himmelkron, Germany, they sought an energy-efficient and effective HVAC system. Schwank provided a solution combining decentralised air handling units with state-of-the-art air-to-air heat pumps. The system prioritised uniform air distribution, eliminating temperature differences and ensuring comfort throughout the space without the need for ducting. With a total heating capacity of 342 kW, the inverter-controlled heat pumps adjust output to actual demand, reducing energy consumption and extending system lifespan. Additionally, the air handling units recover up to 80% of heat from return air, enhancing energy efficiency.
