SBP’s Hugh Webster was in Cambridge yesterday to speak at Citizen Zoo's Rewilding Futures conference, a two-day summit bringing together leading voices in rewilding to tackle the most pressing issues facing the sector. During a though-provoking session that included discussion of the role of wolves in Europe today and how to achieve landscape scale rewilding, Hugh sought to address the question, ‘Is Scotland Ready for Lynx?’ sharing an update on the National Discussion managed by the Lynx to Scotland Project. 🐾 “It was great to join so many like-minded people from around the world and to feed off all the positivity that now surrounds the rewilding movement. From industry professionals and academics to landowners, NGOs and government bodies, we share a common vision for nature recovery, and collectively we have confidence that rewilding can deliver the change we need to see, inspiring real hope for the future.” #CitizenZoo2025 #RewildingFutures

Our third priority for the year ahead is to secure wide-scale support for the return of lynx. 🐾 Throughout 2025, we will engage land managers, politicians and the general public to expand knowledge of lynx, while laying the foundations for its return to the Scottish Highlands. Our second priority for the year ahead is to deliver the first nature restoration projects within Loch Abar Mòr. 🌱 Following its launch in May 2024, this landscape-scale partnership in the West Highlands is focused on actions that will benefit community, nature connectivity and climate.
