to deliver the SHRC’s duty to promote human rights for all in Scotland.
👥 As we are working to strengthen the structure of the Commission aligned to our 2024-28 Strategic Plan, we are looking for an experienced People and Culture manager on a short term contract to work with us to shape up our employee policies and operating model.
⚖️🔍🇺🇳We are hiring an interim Head of Legal & Policy to lead our senior experts; who knows their way around Parliament, and the power of strategic litigation to influence policy change. They will manage the delivery of our international human rights monitoring, our spotlight programme, our policy advice, and the use of our legal powers to uphold human rights.
🗣️Joining them on the Senior Management Team will be an interim Head of Comms to manage our strategic stakeholder engagement, messaging and brand to educate about human rights.
⚖️ Finally, we are seeking a lawyer into a brand new Legal and Policy Coordinator role to join our expert team to explore the use of the new legal powers of intervention and own name litigation the Commission has via the UNCRC Act.
These are exceptional opportunities for exceptional people to work with us to continue shaping the Commission’s next phase as Scotland’s human rights watchdog. Given the stage the Commission is at as we reshape to deliver our Strategic Plan, all roles are being advertised on a temporary basis initially. They would suit secondment arrangements, and are fantastic opportunities to shape the public body tasked with promoting human rights in Scotland.
