SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations)
Non-profit Organizations
The national membership organisation for charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises in Scotland.
About us
SCVO is the national membership organisation for the voluntary sector in Scotland. Our mission is to champion the role of voluntary organisations in building a flourishing society and support them to do work that has a positive impact. We're passionate about what the voluntary sector can achieve. Along with our community of over 3,800 members and supporters, we believe that a thriving voluntary sector should be at the heart of a successful, fair and inclusive Scotland. We tirelessly lobby and campaign to advance the interests of our members and the people and communities that they support, and empower people to make a difference in their communities by providing affordable services and office spaces, and access to quality information and resources. We also encourage digital participation, create networking opportunities, increase access to volunteer and job opportunities, and run hundreds of training courses throughout the year.

Despite the Social Justice and Social Security Committee’s pre-budget call for a funding system that is fair, flexible, sustainable and accessible, we failed to see that materialise in today's #ScottishBudget Read our full response: https://buff.ly/3ZyP957

The proposed National Insurance hike could cost the sector about £75m and be "the straw that breaks the camel’s back". The UK Government should abandon this costly increase. https://buff.ly/4gidqSv

Happy anniversary to SCVO's HR service 🎉 It's been two quick years since we launched our HR service and over that time we've grown quickly and our team has been there at the end of the phone, by video or email to help with the voluntary sector's HR needs. We've helped recruit staff, developed job descriptions, shared our policies and guides on everything you need to be a good employer and given advice on topics like long-term sickness, team dynamics and changing terms and conditions. Here's to many more years of understanding your challenges and supporting your voluntary organisation through difficult situations.
