Miscommunication can lead to incorrect equipment recommendations. 🔹 Consider Transfer Frequency – This is especially important for dementia patients who may experience distress during hoisting. Reducing unnecessary transfers can enhance their comfort. 🔹 Assess the Sling – Is it suitable for the client's weight and needs? In-situ slings can be beneficial for dementia patients to minimize handling. 🔹 Think Beyond Seating – What activities will the client do in the chair? Functional goals, like playing ping pong, should be part of the assessment! 🔹 Carer & Safety Considerations – Does the caregiver require a motorised or manual chair?
