  • Standing Together for a Healthier Future 🌍💙 Eating disorders don’t discriminate by age, and they affect thousands of children and young people across the UK. Research shows that early onset of eating disorders is on the rise, with children as young as 6 or 7 being diagnosed with conditions like ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. These issues can be triggered by a variety of factors, including social pressures, anxiety and a need for control, and they often lead to severe physical and emotional challenges. The effects on children are profound. Eating disorders can disrupt their growth, impair academic and social development, and impact self-esteem. Early intervention is essential, as timely support can make a lasting difference in helping children recover and develop a positive relationship with food and themselves. At SEED, we’re here to advocate for early education, family support, and compassionate care for children affected by these disorders. We’re dedicated to creating a world where children feel safe, understood, and valued, giving them the best chance for a healthy and hopeful future. We’re working to ensure every child and family feels seen, supported, and hopeful.

  • We Want to Hear from You! At SEED, we’re here to raise awareness, offer support, and provide valuable information to our community. But we want to ensure we cover the topics that matter most to YOU! What questions do you have about eating disorders? What topics would you like us to explore in more detail? Whether it’s body image, recovery strategies, or navigating mental health challenges, we want to know! Drop your ideas in the comments below or DM us! Together, we can continue to support and raise awareness for those affected by eating disorders. 💚

  • The Power of Kindness On this World Kindness Day, remember that a simple act of kindness can make a world of difference, especially for those affected by eating disorders. Kindness has the power to lift someone during their toughest moments, offering them comfort, support, and hope. Whether it’s a gentle word, a listening ear, or a thoughtful gesture, kindness can be a lifeline to someone navigating the challenges of recovery. At SEED, we know that kindness plays a vital role in healing. A small act of kindness can remind anyone they are not alone and that recovery is possible. Today, let’s spread kindness and support one another because we never know how much it could mean to someone in need.

  • 5 Intentions for Weekend Each day is a new opportunity to take small, meaningful steps towards self-care and healing. Here are 5 gentle intentions to guide you through today: Be Kind to Yourself: Remember, progress takes time. Treat yourself with the same compassion you would offer to others. Focus on the Present Moment: Let go of past worries and future anxieties. Stay grounded in the here and now. Focus on What You Can Control: Shift your energy towards what you can influence, no matter how small. Engage in Something That Brings You Joy: Take time to do something that makes you happy, even if it’s just for a few moments. Acknowledge Your Emotions Without Judgment: Embrace your feelings without self-criticism. Every emotion is valid. These intentions are small but powerful steps towards self-compassion and well-being. Take what resonates with you, and remember—you are doing your best. What’s your intention for today?

  • 🏃♂️ A Huge Thank You to Alfie! 🏃♂️ We are so proud and grateful to share that Alfie ran the Cardiff Junior Half Marathon and raised an incredible £310 for SEED through his Just Giving page. At just 13 years old, Alfie decided to take on this challenge in support of his younger brother, who was recently diagnosed with ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). Alfie’s motivation was simple yet powerful: “We may need help/support one day, and I want to help others who are affected.” His compassion and determination have touched all of us at SEED, and his efforts will go a long way in helping us continue our mission of supporting those affected by eating disorders. Thank you, Alfie, for your strength, empathy, and incredible support. 💚
