Last week saw a team from Seiche Group, comprising Rhys Morrison, Matthew Hill (AutoNaut) and Mark Burnett (Seiche / AutoNaut) head out to Gran Canaria to support the 2024 Glider School, organised by Carlos Barrera and the team at Plataforma Oceánica de Canarias (PLOCAN). The Glider School is the leading hands-on ocean-glider technology training forum in its 14th year. https://lnkd.in/eZMRVZ5x The Glider School provides a combination of classroom, lab and on-the-water training in cutting-edge marine technologies focused on delivering more efficient and sustainable ocean-observing strategy. Its main objective to train ocean-glider technicians and pilots, as well as to show the evolution of sensors, presenting the next generation of instruments associated with these technologies, and derived scientific applications, services for the Blue Economy or contributing to regulatory framework strategy for uncrewed maritime navigation.

Reflecting on the launch of the Northern Devon Maritime Cluster this week Petroc Official   The launch of the Northern Devon Maritime Cluster is intended to ensure as a region we maximise the potential of the opportunities that are here now and will have significant growth in the future in the fields of Offshore Renewable Energy, Aquaculture, Clean Maritime, Ocean Environmental Data and Green Hydrogen.  The vision is that we will deliver a thriving and resilient marine and maritime industry that benefits our region, and fosters both Biodiversity Net Gain and Marine Net Gain. This will be achieved through collaboration, innovation and skills development.   If the enthusiasm, capability and talent observed in the participants and conversations during the launch day is anything to go by, then I am without doubt assured that we will build on our existing regional capabilities to deliver the transformational opportunity that we see before us, to create a world leading Innovation Ecosystem within a Natural Ecosystem.
