Media.com's survey found that 67% of users are more inclined to trust platforms with verified user identities. 60% of social media users support mandatory user identity verification to combat fake news and bots. Users also endorse universal fact-checking and stringent penalties for spreading misinformation. Concerns about safety and credibility on social platforms drive the demand for identity verification, with 76% of users wary of unverified content. Given last year was an election year in many countries, this is even more alarming.
