We're excited to share that Yola Jones has been awarded the Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award at Seluna Ltd! 🌟 A massive congratulations to our amazing co-founder, CTO and brains behind Seluna on her successful application! This award is a testament to her hard work and vision - we couldn’t be prouder! 🙌 With this award, we’ll be advancing our machine-learning software to help diagnose paediatric sleep apnoea. It will also allow us to begin developing our novel, child-friendly wearable that will enable remote diagnostics and long-term monitoring for a range of sleep and respiratory disorders. Yesterday, the Seluna Ltd team had our first taste of TheBeyond - the new space opened by Filament STAC - Smart Things Accelerator Centre. We spent the day working in the office, shooting content in the media lab, coffee breaks, team meetings, and catching up with other startups. Yola Jones and I even managed to grab a quick photo in the new meeting room thanks to a rare appearance of the sun in Glasgow ☀️ The resources here are incredible, and the community is super supportive so it’s a great spot for any companies aiming to grow and thrive. In our next introduction to the Seluna Ltd team, we’re excited to introduce you to Matthew G Smith. He’s one of our incredible Machine Learning Engineers who has been with Seluna since day one. Matty completed his PhD in Intelligent Sensing and Measurement at the University of Glasgow, focusing on machine learning for healthcare applications. Since joining us, he has brought this expertise to our team and consistently delivered exceptional results. He has been involved in early clinical conversations with NHS bodies throughout the UK, conceptualisation of our product, and was instrumental in forming the technical roadmap. Matty’s work ethic, commitment, and passion for solving problems have been instrumental in shaping Seluna into the company it is today. Exciting news! Seluna Ltd has been selected as one of only eight UK companies to participate in the Innovate UK Global Incubation Program for AI in Canada. This will take place in the heart of Toronto at the MaRS Discovery District, North America's largest urban innovation hub. Our mission is to develop AI-powered medical software to support doctors to rapidly diagnose and triage childhood sleep disorders. This fits perfectly with the Incubation Program, which supports companies developing Artificial Intelligence, machine learning applications for improved healthcare decision making and diagnostics, as well as safer, more effective treatments. As part of this journey, Seluna will receive tailored support and market visits to establish a presence in North America.
