🚀 Seraphim Space Q4 24 Quarterly Space Index 🚨 The SpaceTech investment sector finished 2024 strong with a record-setting 601 deals, marking a nearly 50% increase year-on-year! 💡✨ Here are the key highlights from the quarter: 📊 2024 Investment Growth: Total investments hit $8.6bn, a 25% increase from $6.9bn in 2023. Q4 investment remained strong at $1.8bn (down slightly from $1.9bn in Q3). 🔭 Key Sectors: Focus on capital-intensive sectors like satellite, launch services, and space logistics. Notable growth in the Beyond Earth segment, with three of the top ten deals coming from this space. 💥 Standout Deals: Firefly Aerospace closed the biggest deal of the quarter: a $175m Series D round. Apple invested $1.7bn in Globalstar for a 20% stake, and SpaceX saw a $1.25bn secondary share sale, raising its valuation to $350bn. 🌍 Global Trends: European firms were notably active, with investments in The Exploration Company, ICEYE, and ALL.SPACE. Asia, especially China, continues to increase its competitiveness in the market. The US and China alternated as the leaders in space investment throughout the year, with the US ultimately maintaining its top spot in Q4. 🔮 Looking Ahead: Seed-stage deals dominated the quarter, making up 55% of total deals. Growth investing is back, with Series D+ rounds showing significant year-on-year growth. Publicly listed SpaceTech companies like RocketLab (+175%) and Redwire Space (+155%) showed impressive performances. 🚀 What's Next for 2025?
