  • Getting festive, and all for a great cause! 🎄 Our Sheffield office took part in Save the Children UK’s Christmas Jumper Day, raising funds for the incredible work this organisation does around the world. Save the Children International operates in some of the most challenging environments, providing healthcare, food, and shelter to vulnerable children who need it most. We're honoured to have supported their mission by developing a Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) course through our custom certification service. #SaveTheChildren #ChristmasJumperDay

  • We’re now approved to deliver the End-Point Assessment for the new domestic and sexual abuse support worker level 4 apprenticeship standard. 👏 Launched earlier in the year, this apprenticeship brings professional recognition to those supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. Through this award, we’re helping to reinforce critical support within the third sector where organisations are working tirelessly serve on the front lines every day. With an estimated 2.1 million people affected by domestic abuse annually, this standard aligns with ongoing government efforts to embed essential domestic abuse support across public services. And, as experts in providing nationally recognised assessment services for the protective services workforce, SFJ Awards is proud to be part of this important work. #DomesticAbuseAwareness #DomesticAbuseSupport #Apprenticeships

“One of the best courses I've done in 19 years of being in the FRS, delivered at exactly the right pace. Due to the fact the instructors were well experienced I fed from this as much as the course content.” SFJ Awards Level 4 Award West Midlands Fire Service.    Praise indeed and well done to this particular K Lamb Associates delivery team, however Katherine Lamb is assured this feedback could be said for all our associates.    In Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service both KLA’s Strategic Assessors/Trainers delivered a Strategic Fire Commander Refresher & Group Strategic Decision-Making Exercise. The first of 2 planned sessions, the theme of this one was Major Transport (Train). All 12 attendees from their SLT and ICT Team, were exposed to a whole day including input and a group decision making exercise.     “Really good session – very interactive good check and balance on knowledge and implementation. Delivery was excellent. Open session rather than death by PowerPoint.”     Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service booked one of KLA’s Command Support Operative Courses. A 2-day course, all the delegates experienced input and a series of practical exercises to further embed the new learning.    “Thank you for making the course so fun, engaging and thought provoking. This course has helped us reflect on how we approach command support and has helped us shape our delivery model for next year.” Command Support Operative Course, DSFRS.    Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service booked KLA to deliver for them a SFJ Awards Level 6 Award in Advanced Incident Command. All 4 delegates were exposed not only to valuable input but a series of formative and summative assessments. Utilising the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool invaluable feedback compliments the immersive learning which is key to embedding the newfound skills. Well done to all the delegates on a successful week.    Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service engaged us for a SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Revalidation for Strategic Incident Command. Opting for the ‘face-to-face' version, KLA’s delivery team spent the day in service facilitating a complex and challenging SCG meeting for both delegates. A thought provoking day both delegates successfully completed their assessments, well done. Interested in enhancing your Incident Command training? KLA offers structured IC courses across IC levels 1-4, led by experienced trainers and assessors. • 5 December marks International Volunteers Day, a time to celebrate the incredible contributions of volunteers worldwide. While this day often brings to mind charitable organisations, it’s also an opportunity to acknowledge the volunteers who make a vital impact in areas such as policing. According to the latest Police Workforce Statistics from the UK government, there are over 12,000 volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to support police forces; making a real difference in their communities. These include Special Constables, who serve alongside regular officers, and a range of other volunteer roles that contribute to delivering vital services. On this International Volunteers Day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to these volunteers who give their time, skills, and energy to public service and community safety. #InternationalVolunteersDay #ThankYouVolunteers

  • Spiking is a deplorable crime which targets vulnerable people and breaks trust in public spaces which should be open for all to enjoy. We’re pleased to see that the UK Government is taking spiking seriously and making it a criminal offence, announcing that training will be rolled out to bar staff to help them prevent and respond to incidents. With a wide range of security qualifications on offer, we are proud to be able to offer our security sector clients additional support around spiking training. Get in touch with us today to find out how we can help you respond to these changes in training for spiking prevention. #Spiking #SecurityTraining

SFJ Awards Level 4 Award in Designing and Delivering Incident Command Training    Last week K Lamb Associates delivery teams facilitated 2 SFJ Awards Level 4 Award in Designing and Delivering Incident Command Training. In Avon Fire & Rescue Service delegates returned for Phase 2 of their SFJ Award course and in Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue their delegates, joined by delegates from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, started their journey with Phase 1 of the SFJ Award course. Both courses demonstrated the absolute best of the various Incident Command Training options with delegates thirsty to learn more about the skill of designing and delivering Incident Command Training.   In East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service a KLA delivery team facilitated a week of the SFJ Awards Level 6 Award in Advanced Incident Command. A whole course, filled with just their own delegates, the course was well received and provided delegates with many opportunities to observe through role play and demonstrate their own skills through formal and summative assessments. Using the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool, assessors were able to provide real time constructive feedback whilst collecting even more valuable data that contributes to a wider national data set.    In West Midlands Fire Service another KLA delivery team facilitated a SFJ Awards Level 4 award in Intermediate Incident Command. A relatively new client to KLA, the feedback from this course has been incredibly positive.    “All trainers that attended the course were excellent, they had great knowledge, good communication skills in many aspects, voice, visuals, and they all adapted to all learning styles and there was definitely encouragement throughout the 5 days. There were no negative comments, just constructive feedback. This I am very grateful for.”     North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service booked an entire day of a Strategic Fire Command Refresher with Group Decision Making Exercises. Superbly facilitated through Joe Hassell Command in partnership with K Lamb Associates, the service’s entire Strategic Command Team participated in the day's events. Feedback has been excellent.    “Excellent days CPD, great instruction and scenario.” CFO Jonathan Dyson.    “A great learning environment. Joe provided just enough direction to allow informative discussion leading to group and individual learning. Thank you.” DCFO Mat Walker. For those interested in enhancing their Incident Command training plans, KLA offers structured IC programs across IC levels 1-4, led by experienced trainers and assessors. You can explore KLA’s full range of services and get in touch through our website: www.klambassociates.com. If you have specific IC training needs or questions, Katherine Lamb and the KLA team would be happy to assist! www.effectivecommand.com
