Making it easier to borrow or repair things we need to live our lives. Better for our homes, wallets and planet.
About us

📸 We now have thermal imaging cameras, thanks to funding from Retrofit West CIC and The West of England Combined Authority! Use them to help identify areas of heat loss in your home, improve your home's energy efficiency and save money on heating bills. Just connect the wireless camera to your smartphone via an app and bluetooth, and look through your house for any heat loss issue. Our volunteers have had some training on how to use them, and each library has a couple available to borrow! #libraryofthings #sharebristol #bristol @retrofit_west #thermal

We’re delighted to have opened our third Share Bristol Library of Things at UWE Bristol’s Frenchay Campus! This is all thanks to the support of the community and our match funders, Aviva and the Mortgage Advice Bureau Foundation, who have helped us fundraise to open this new site. Open to all - UWE staff, students, and members of the public - this new location will give Share Bristol members in North Bristol access to borrowing closer to home. Come find us at: Share Bristol Frenchay, University of the West of England, Frenchay Campus, Coldharbour Lane, Bristol BS16 1QY. (What3Words: span.ground.lace ) Opening hours: Monday 6pm-8pm and Wednesday 3pm-5pm. Our opening hours will increase when we recruit more volunteers! Check out our website for more information on how to apply! ShareBristol.org.uk #frenchaycampus #libraryofthings @avivauk @mortgageadvicebureau

Absolutely thrilled to share that we've been honoured with an award for our contributions to waste reduction! 💚✨ This recognition is a testament to the power of collective action and the small changes we can all make to create a more sustainable future. Share Bristol Kingswood Library of Things received an award for increasing use by over 20% since last year and our Bedminster Library of Things received a new location already making an impact award! We are very grateful to everyone who has supported this journey by borrowing our party kit or telling a friend (or two!). Together, we can make a real difference! This year, members of the Party Kit Network (@partykitnetwork) contributed to avoiding over 331,000 single-use items. That's now more than 1 million items since we started! Please support us to continue to make an impact. #PartyKitNetwork #WasteWarrior #SustainableLiving #ImpactAward #TogetherForChange #sharebristol #libraryofthings

A quick reminder that @Coopuk members can choose Share Bristol as their local cause to help us raise funds to enable more people in Bristol to borrow rather than buy! It costs nothing to vote, but you do need to be a Co-op member. If you were thinking of becoming a Co-Op member, it only costs £1 to join! 💫 Thank you so much for an incredible 2024! We're looking forward to what 2025 will bring (and what we'll be bringing you!) 💫 We've just about recovered from the holidays and wrapped our head around things, and truly we couldn't be more grateful for the amazing year we've had here at Share Bristol. Some of the highlights of this incredibly busy year: -We opened our second Library of Things in Bedminster, now also running as a Community Hub thanks to funding from Bristol City Council (make sure you follow @bedminsterhubatsharebristol on Fb for all events and updates!) -We're very close to opening our third location in Frenchay -We've hired more members of staff to manage each Library of Things, and our amazing team of volunteers has more than doubled! Truly we couldn't have done any of this without our amazing volunteers, dedicated team of trustees, and tireless library managers - and of course our fantastic borrowers, helping the world one borrow at a time! We are looking forward to 2025 as we keep growing, and we hope you will continue to support us. A huge thank you, the Share Bristol Team ✨ 💪 🔧 ⛺ 🔦 🪜 💫 #sharebristol #bristollibraryofthings #libraryofthings #libraryofthingsbristol #borrowdontbuy #bringon2025
