Last month, we introduced our partnership with The ADHD Foundation and the Umbrella Project, which aims to help everyone learn more about neurodiversity. This saw bright umbrella installations in our offices, which colleagues could take a picture with to show their support for neurodiversity awareness, whilst also telling their story. The Neurodiversity Network also chose Neurodiversity in Business (NiB) - the Neurodiversity Charity to donate £1000 to show further support. We covered several different topics, ranging from: - ADHD awareness. - Living with autism. - Creating a better work environment. - And more! Thank you to all of our colleagues for visiting our art installation and sharing your stories about neurodiversity.

Our family is made up of thousands of unique people, each navigating their own life events and challenges. We’re committed to shaping our world for the better, and that starts with supporting our people. Over the last 4 weeks, our parent company Sopra Steria ran a carefully selected programme of events designed to help our people with the things that matter, proudly sponsored by the Sopra Steria Employee Trust. The programme focused on three key elements: Being Confident with Your Money, Be Kind to Yourself and Be There for Your Loved Ones. With over 75 live virtual events across a wide range of topics and the option to book a private and confidential 1-2-1 with one of our experts, we hoped there was something for everyone. And don’t take our word for it, here’s what our people said: “The wellbeing programme has been amazing with something for everyone.” “Love the bite size of the event - made me take a break on a busy day which I find hard to do.” “I've found these sessions helpful and are only 20 minutes. It makes them easier to fit in during the day. Also I appreciate having the links to so we can run through again, or to catchup on parts we missed.”

SSCL have been highly commended for Best Wellbeing Initiative for Business Culture at the Business Culture Awards 2024. This award recognises organisations that have advanced employee health and wellbeing, increasing engagement and strengthening business culture as a result, particularly financial wellbeing support. Our award entry was around our wellbeing offer to support with the significant impact being felt by the cost-of-living crisis. Guided by our values, our business decisions ensured our people remained firmly at the heart of everything we did and continue to do. For SSCL to be nominated and recognised to be among the top businesses in this category is a true testament to the quality of our work, and shows we've taken notable steps to creating a fantastic business culture for our people. SSCL have worked to ensure our people are actively supported to be emotionally healthy, where they feel able to talk openly about their wellbeing and mental health. Thank you to all our people who are dedicated to improving our people's wellbeing, day in day out. #SSCL #Award

Honouring Veterans and supporting their wellbeing: SSCL at Fylde Coast Veterans Garden On Friday, 8 November members of SSCL Blackpool had the privilege of attending a remembrance service at the Fylde Coast Veterans Garden. Together, they laid a wreath on behalf of SSCL to honour the contributions and sacrifices of our Armed Forces. John, a Veteran in SSCL Government with 12 years of Army service, represented SSCL with pride. The Fylde Coast Veterans Garden is a space thoughtfully created by local Veterans to support their mental and physical wellbeing. Veterans have lovingly established and nurtured the garden, and it has become a sanctuary for those who served. SSCL is proud to support this important project, having donated essential gardening equipment and provided volunteers to assist with the heavy manual work required. The remembrance service provided an opportunity to reflect and celebrate the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with the garden. It also served as a moment to pay tribute to those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
