Australian wing 6'3'' James Ramm, who joined the Northampton Saints from the NSW Waratahs ahead of the 2022/23 season, has quickly made a name for himself. Known for his dynamic play, Ramm impressed in Super Rugby with his ability to make clean breaks, beat defenders, and carry metres. He’s also represented the Junior Wallabies and balanced his rugby career with a degree in biomedical engineering from the University of New South Wales.   As part of our sponsorship package, we were invited to an exclusive “Behind the Scenes” experience at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens. The day included lunch with the players, a stadium tour, and the opportunity to watch a live training session. On Sunday, 24 November, we partnered with Hedges Law to host a well-attended Q&A session at the Farmer’s Dog, Jeremy Clarkson’s renowned Cotswold pub in Burford. Over 65 farmers joined us to discuss the recent changes to Inheritance Tax (IHT) reliefs introduced in the budget and to seek advice on navigating these complex updates. The session addressed their concerns and explored practical strategies to help mitigate potential tax liabilities during these challenging times. Support was on hand from RABI and The Farming Community Network, providing attendees affected by these changes, access to both financial advice and emotional support. Shaw Gibbs Northampton are proud to announce Monica Henriques, BSc received a special prize after graduating with a first class honours degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Northampton Monica attended the BSc Accounting & Finance graduation ceremony at the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton. Monica graduated not only with first class honours in her BSc Accounting and Finance degree but first-class honours in every module and was also the subject representative for the course and therefore was very deserving for her special faculty CB Tax Award for Excellent Performance! CBTax is a UK & Ireland Tax Consultancy Practice that delivers Research & Development projects, and they sponsor the award for best graduate at the University of Northampton in the tax module. Monica joined Shaw Gibbs in August as one of our Accounts and Audit Trainees and is already making a positive impact both in the accounts and audit teams, and with our clients. The Farnham Christmas Lights Switch-On came and went in a flash, but the joy and excitement on Saturday 16 November has left pleasant memories! Gostrey Meadow was alive with the festive spirit as families enjoyed activities with the little ones, local schools and theatre groups entertained with heartwarming performances. The highlight of the day? The magical countdown to the Christmas Lights Switch-On at 4:30 PM, when the Christmas season officially began. The joy on children’s faces as the lights sparkled is unforgettable.
