We are over the moon to have formed a partnership with Seeds for Growth charity to launch our ‘We Grow London’ programme. We are coming together to meet our common agendas of supporting and inspiring communities to engage in growing their own food, which has so many benefits in terms of bringing communities together, addressing mental and physical wellbeing and helping those in food poverty. The charity launched in 2006, and supports tenants on social housing estates to create and enjoy their own community gardens. Their goal is to support 600 initiatives a year UK wide. She Grows Veg are proud to be providing our seeds, education resources and expertise to help their mission. We will also be donating our Chelsea 2025 exhibit to the charity to distribute in disadvantaged areas of London, providing these growing projects with hundreds of incredible food plants. Today we met with Gregory Cohn, CEO of the charity to kick off our joint venture. London is just the beginning of our shared mission to get EVERYONE growing!

🎃 Did you know that 18,000 tonnes of pumpkins are thrown away in the UK every Halloween? That’s equivalent to the weight of 1,500 double-decker buses! Most of these pumpkins are never eaten, contributing to massive food waste. 🎃 To compound the problem, most of those pumpkins will be imported from abroad with a horrendous carbon footprint and food miles. We at She Grows Veg Ltd are making it our mission to encourage as many people as possible to grow their own pumpkins next year with zero food miles and cook and eat their pumpkins this year! If you follow us on Instagram or Meta you’ll see the delicious recipes we’ll be sharing in the next week. We’ve had the most wonderful team day at She Grows Veg. We are now a team of 13 brilliant women. Today we revealed the incredible new website we’re building, our vision for the next year and spent time in our trial garden harvesting tomatoes and learning about what goes on there. We all left so inspired and pumped for the year ahead! GROW BIG OR GO HOME
