🛒 Customer Supply Group Membership Programme 2025 - OUT NOW After another successful year for the Customer Supply Group, we're excited to unveil our 2025 program—open to all ambient #FMCG suppliers A Look Back at Our 2024 Journey: We started strong at Mars London Gateway DC, discussing member priorities, Nestlé’s decarbonisation journey, and Brian Moore's inimitable review of the state of the retail sector. Our next stop was Ocado Retail, where we explored their Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) and FSEW International Freight Forwarders's fleet decarbonisation efforts. We then visited AF Blakemore & Son Ltd to delve into their role in Digital Catapult projects, alongside how Nestle were improving their team analytical skills from within. We wrapped up at The Hub, comparing suppliers' customer service structures and fulfillment strategies. For 2025, we’re launching a Customer Fulfilment Subgroup to take a deep dive on these insights. Special Interest Groups: Sales & Forecasting Subgroup: we have held sessions with Morrisons and Coop to improve ways of working due to new systems and provided feedback on the Sainsbury’s portal to enable the GCA to challenge over charges. Amazon Subgroup: has made good progress by sharing best practice ways of working with a walk-through for January/Feb 2025 to review the end-to-end processes. DISCOVER MORE about our plans for the year ahead or request a full programme, please reach out to us at hello@simply-sc.com Thank you to all our members for their continuing support and valuable contribution and we are looking forward to another year of progress and collaboration! #SupplyChainExcellence #Sustainability #FMCG #SupplyChainImprovement #SupplyChainBestPractice

🚛 Chilled suppliers working together to improve supply chain availability and service whilst reducing operating costs. 2024 has been another successful year for the Drop & Drive Group, with Morrisons and now Tesco engaging fully with #GFR - they will be joining us at our meetings in the New Year. Short delivered claims are at a consistent 95% reduction, and GRNI has recovered >£1M from 4 retailers - the latter remains the greatest opportunity for suppliers to recover unpaid invoices. Our forums provide chilled suppliers with a space in which to share best practice, discover opportunities for collaboration, and gather vital data that maintains the right level of pressure on retail reform. 🌍 LAUNCHING for 2025...The Decarbonising Logistics Workgroup Philip Roe President of Logistics UK, set the tone at our recent decarbonising logistics showcase - the time for action is NOW and suppliers and product owners need to accept that they hold the key to decarbonising their transport operations. Although many suppliers already have corporate ESG statements, often with clear plans for Scope 1 & 2 emissions, most have yet to develop a full plan to tackle their Scope 3 emissions...and with 2040 being the net zero sales deadline, we are only 2-3 vehicle licence cycles away in lease terms. With many businesses struggling to know where to start and service providers seemingly unwilling to take the lead we have launched a membership workgroup for 2025. Featuring: * Rail terminal visits including train simulator. * Road-based visits - Bio-LNG/CNG (gas) and BEV (electric). * Best Practice Pioneer sessions - for advanced practitioners to compare, contrast and accelerate their understanding. *Best Practice ‘How to’ sessions - for ‘beginner’ members to understand how to engage (build a business case, where to start etc.). * Retailer Insights - What are retailers plans and how can they help suppliers? * Networking Opportunities - How can suppliers work together to achieve more? Explore common challenges and share learnings with industry peers. FIND OUT MORE: https://hubs.ly/Q02YH7Nk0 #supplychain #greenlogistics #sustainablelogistics #logistics #fmcg #netzero

Welcoming over 40 #fmcg suppliers, exhibitors and industry experts to our decarbonising logistics showcase being held today at The Hub at DIRFT - learning about ALL currently available options towards net zero emissions: BEV, Bio-CNG, Bio-LNG and modal shift rail. Philip Roe, President of Logistics UK, gave an incredibly insightful yet direct keynote speech on how the UK logistics sector, as a contributor to the UK’s carbon emissions, has a key role to play in achieving the UK’s net zero goals. Delivering a strong message that although the Freight Energy Forum and ZEHID trials have begun, more is needed and it is clear that an urgent injection of pace is needed to meet the UK targets. Operators, manufacturers, energy providers and infrastructure companies all need to work together - we cannot wait for a magic bullet. Our delegates got plenty of opportunity to see, touch and experience a Volvo EV and a Nestle Bio-LNG Gas truck with a trip to the Gasrec refuelling station. As well as hearing from Freightliner on the innovation around a shift to rail, Malcolm Group's 'Scope 3 Strategy' and Project Jolt's joint operator trial for EVs. Thank you to everyone for coming, listening and asking the questions and we hope today's event will have helped continue your journey towards logistics decarbonisation. A final quote from Phil Roe "don't let perfect get in the way of good"....start now. A critical lever to reduce road miles and emissions is a modal shift to rail. Rail is already the least emissions-intensive mode of transport, contributing just 1.4% of the UK's domestic transport emissions, with rail freight emitting c. 25% of the equivalent emissions of HGVs, per tonne. Exhibitors at the Decarbonising Logistics Showcase, Freightliner Group Ltd and The Malcolm Group are working together to deliver daily seamless #rail services connecting The Midlands to Central Scotland with ease.
