💙💚 Move for Macmillan - completed!🏆💚 💙
After saying hello to our colleagues at Smiths Horsham (Smiths Metal Centres Ltd) we started the last leg of our epic journey and just before the Easter weekend the team at Smiths Verwood (Smiths Metal Centres Ltd) completed the mammoth 1480.1 mile challenge Move for Macmillan - leaving us a few days spare to enjoy the Easter weekend 🐣.
The entire team have put their heart and soul into this challenge throughout the month of March, whether it was putting steps in around the warehouse, walking exploring the local area, running, treadmill, exercise bike and lets not forget the ultimate game changer the desk bike, kindly provided to us for this cause by our friends at Manutan - we cannot thank you enough 🙏 .
A special mention has to go to Darren Ratcliffe from our warehouse, who reached the top spot with an incredible 314.27 miles. Every day Darren has been so dedicated and has been putting in extra steps around the warehouse then using the desk bike on his breaks. At home he has been using his own exercise bike in the evening whilst watching television, running around the pitch whilst his son has been playing Football and going out on bike trips at the weekends, he really has been the driving force of the team - well done Darren 👏 .
We'd like to say a massive thank you 🙏 to those who have donated so far to our Move for Macmillan cause, this is something that is very close to all our hearts and every single penny goes towards Macmillan Cancer Support 💙, helping people with cancer, doing whatever it takes to help them in any way they can fight this awful disease .
We now have one more challenge left to complete and that is to reach our target of £1480 - a pound for every mile completed by the team.
