  • A huge thank you to all our Santa Dash runners - Sarah Street & Charlotte Matthews from Cavalry Healthcare and Pete & Nic Gough - who took part in the 5km fun run in Liverpool yesterday and raised lots of money for the hospice! You all smashed it and we are so grateful 🥇 🎅 👏 A special shout out to Pete & Nic who set off from the hospice in the early hours yesterday to run all the way in to Liverpool before doing the Santa Dash!! Pete has raised over £2k in memory of his mum Aileen who was recently a patient at the hospice 💚 If you fancy doing a charity run for the hospice, keep your eyes peeled as we will have more charity runs coming up in 2025!

  • NEWSFLASH!! We are very excited to announce that the National Trust has chosen us as one of the 49 recipients of a ‘Trees of Hope’ Sycamore Gap sapling 🌳 💚 This story has hit the national headlines today and it is a real honour and privilege to hear that we will have one of the saplings from this much-loved tree here at the hospice as a symbol of hope and life for our community. Nearly 500 applications were received for the 49 saplings – one to represent each foot in height that the tree was at the time of felling. The saplings are currently being cared for at the charity’s Plant Conservation Centre, and they should be strong and sturdy enough ready to plant out in winter 2025/26. The new homes for all the saplings will be in publicly accessible spaces, enabling many more people to feel part of the iconic Sycamore Gap tree’s legacy with recipients from all across the UK. Mike Parr, hospice chief executive said: "We applied for one of the saplings because it symbolises hope and fits with our philosophy of ‘bringing life into people’s days’. With 12 acres of woodland, fully accessible to our community, this is a place of comfort, peace and reflection, so it is an ideal location for one for the Trees of Hope."
