Extending an existing drive thru store in Ümraniye Yamanevler, the space now acts as a vibrant hub and creative collaboration area for young people to discover, study and socialise. Partnering with local charity, Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG), the space has already hosted events and programmes for locals to enjoy and has a packed agenda of initiatives and events to come. With over 10,000 Starbucks Partners across the UK now trained in British Sign Language (BSL), and just a year since launch, it was a wonderful achievement for our UK team to have their industry-leading BSL training & gamification app recognised at two recent awards ceremonies. The team won Best Learning Category at last week’s BusinessCulture Awards, with the judges commenting the training is “a stunning piece of learning that demonstrates impact on partners and customers”. We also won a silver medal for Best Technology Learning Game at the learning tech Awards.   We are so proud of the thousands of partners who have wholeheartedly embraced this training, enabling them to offer a welcoming coffeehouse to those who are hard of hearing. And we are especially proud of our District Manager, Toro Manca, whose vision for this training  and the impact it could have on the lives of people in every community we serve, has been truly inspiring. Starbucks has reimagined the way coffee brings people together with a brand new format store which opened in Stourbridge, UK yesterday. The store allows members of the community to get together with a free bookable space and table service, and has been designed with more relaxed seating to make sure customers have the best experience. The store team will have the chance to volunteer with a number of local charities and organisations supported by #StarbucksUK. These include Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust , thanks to our partnership with NHS Charities Together 💙, Riverside House Nature Hub which is of our partnership with Hubbub , and HIGH OAK YOUTH AND COMMUNITY CENTRE local foodbank.
