Last week’s open house event at our Technology Centre in Derby was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our partnership with CMP Products and finalise their investment in an additional six new Star sliding head lathes. CMP Products is a leading manufacturer of cable glands, cable cleats and associated accessories for a wide range of applications. With two Star SR models already operating at their Northumberland facility, this latest investment will significantly increase their production capacity and enhance process efficiency.

Infinity CNC Ltd, a supplier of high-precision components to a wide range of industries, has invested in its first sliding head lathe, which was dispatched today to their Norwich production facility. Following a visit to our Technology Centre in Derby, the team at Infinity CNC selected the high-performance SR-32JIII Type B sliding head lathe to enhance the versatility of their CNC services and expand production capacity with lights-out operation. Equipped with the latest technologies, including Step Cycle Pro, the Infinity CNC team will soon begin production following this week's installation and an on-site operator training programme scheduled for next week.

The British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association today hosts its highly-anticipated 2024 AGM and last General Meeting of the year at The Grand, York. Stephen Totty is in attendance on behalf of Star Micronics GB to network with fellow BTMA members and gain an insight into the current developments, opportunities and challenges facing UK manufacturers. A key focus of this year’s AGM is addressing the skills gap in manufacturing. Discussions will highlight initiatives such as apprenticeships and advanced training programmes aimed at inspiring the next generation of engineers and enhancing capabilities across the sector.
