Non-profit Organizations
Preventing Youth Homelessness across the West Midlands region since 1972.
About us
St Basils works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping over 4000 young people per year across the West Midlands region with specific services in Birmingham, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Worcestershire, the Wyre Forest, Coventry and Warwickshire. Ever year over 1200 young people are housed in our 29 supported accommodation schemes, which for some young people includes their young children as well. We have a range of prevention, accommodation and support services to help young people regain the stability they need to rebuild their lives, gain skills, training and employment and move on. The aim is to help them successfully break the cycle of homelessness so that they can go on to experience a bright, fulfilling future and never return to a state where they are at risk of homelessness again. St Basils also works with young people and partners on a national basis (funded separately). We facilitate the National Youth Reference Group and the Youth Homeless Parliament, we are part of the national End Youth Homelessness Alliance and we are working to roll out our 'Positive Pathway' model nationwide.

Sleepouter update - we've just finished our indoor presentation, sharing good news of YOUR impacts! Each £9 raised helps us pay for a night of accommodation for a young person in need - keep sharing and spreading the word! That's 400+ Brummies and West Midlanders, even some from as far as London, sleeping outside in the cold for the benefit of disadvantaged young people❤️#StBasilsBigSleepout

The Sleepout is well underway, and the dwellings are very creative this year- here are a few of our favourites! ⭐ The delicious food courtesy of our friends at Langar Aid has gone down a treat, and the atmosphere has been made incredibly festive by the Band of the West Midlands Fire Service🎺 This year we were also lucky enough to be joined by an Indian Drumming Group, who've added extra fun to the evening 🥁#StBasilsBigSleepout

Is it a bird, is it a plane, no it’s Nikhil Trivedi and Robert Brown! They did it! Our fearless skydivers, Nikhil Trivedi and Robert Brown soared for charity! 🪂We couldn’t be prouder! Jumping through the clouds from over 10,000 ft at speeds up to 125 mph, nerves were high, but it was all for two amazing causes – St Basils and Emmaus UK Thank you to everyone who has already donated! Your generosity helps us make a difference for homelessness across the UK. Please donate: St Basils – https://lnkd.in/eNJ5twT8 Emmaus Uk – https://lnkd.in/eGQn7NQf 📷Here are some of the breath-taking moments captured during their adventure! #skydive #fundraising #theyjumped #windthroughtheirhair #Claritas #amazing #adrenaline
