STEM Learning UK reposted this
Great day yesterday at the Science Museum Group in London, to celebrate 20 years of STEM Learning UK and the launch of the STEM Learning UK Impact Report, chaired by Séverine Trouillet FRSA. The panel discussion on how to address the most pressing issues in #STEMeducation was fascinating and resonated strongly with what we do in STEMAZING. Actions included: 💥 Enriching learning with more #handson activities; 💥 Engaging young people early at Primary age; 💥 Showcasing relatable #rolemodels and engaging with parents; 💥 Making links to how STEM directly impact the world around; 💥 Streamlining the secondary STEM curriculum and maintaining time for practicals; 💥 Changing focus of education system to be more skills based. We also heard from the #inspiring Aashna Bhui about her journey in #STEM, and the importance of employers providing meaningful engagement with young people, against the backdrop of her being visually impaired. STEMAZING is all about #empowering women-in-STEM to shine as visible #rolemodels, by delivering hands-on activities to #inspire Primary age children. Please get in touch if you'd like to find out how your company could partner with us to take #action and help address the national STEM skills shortage.
