We breath life into buildings through the design of mechanical and electrical engineering.

About us

The practice was established by Steve Hunt in 1988 and has focused on quality growth to match demand whilst maintaining stability, a desire to succeed and a commitment to effectively deliver. Our core business deals with the development of new buildings on green field sites. Our particular expertise lies in the overall management and co-ordination of the complete services package from infrastructure procurement, the design of the services, followed up with a full inspection process. We have a commercial awareness of our trade and whilst innovative, our designs are selective and tailored to suit their purpose. Our team has considerable experience with a wide range of commercial projects across all sectors and has concentrated on interesting bespoke schemes requiring creativity and flair integral to the design. We have represented clients ranging from small build schemes to high profile, multi million pound projects from concept master planning through to completion. We encompass all aspects of building services engineering both mechanically and electrically including the periphery specialism's such as security, structured wiring, fire engineering, access control, CCTV and lift installations. We provide full 3D visualisation in REVIT and thermal modeling techniques to assist our design process and aid other design partners in scheme development. We are currently seeking quality engineers to come and join our team, if you are interested email your CV to info@stevenhunt.com

Updates

  • As we draw a close to 2024, Neil has reflected on a successful year for Steven Hunt Associates "As 2024 comes to an end, we’re proud to reflect on an incredible year that marked our 35th year in business. We proudly represented the Liverpool City Region at MIPIM and UKREiiF, strengthening ties with public and private partners and engaging with government. At events like CIH Housing, IHEEM, and Education Estates, we showcased our expertise and built lasting relationships. This year, we inspired future talent through school talks, achieved LCRCA Fair Employment Charter Status, and kept social value at the forefront through charity events, award sponsorships, and networking. We celebrated key wins, including two G4C Awards, COLBA Employer of the Year, highly Commended at the Livercool awards, and our annual Dave Norcross Award, honoring a dear colleague’s legacy. Congratulations to Barney, Gabriel, and Debra for their individual successes. It’s been a year of change, welcoming new colleagues, bidding farewell to others, and securing exciting project wins. A special highlight was Steve Hunt’s CIBSE Silver Medal recognition. We closed the year with the announcement of our Management Buyout (MBO), marking a new chapter for Steven A Hunt & Associates. To our clients, colleagues, and partners – thank you for being at the heart of our success. Here’s to an amazing 2025!"

  • At Steven Hunt Associates, we believe in making a difference beyond the workplace. Recently, Anne was joined by Andy Spooner, Anthony C., David Owens, Christopher Mellor, Kerri McKenna, and Ed Carroll in our office to support CRADLE CHARITY, a national mental health charity supporting women and families after the loss of a baby during pregnancy or termination. The task was simple, pack comfort bags for women admitted to hospital during these difficult times. Each bag, filled with essentials like toiletries and small comforts, is a lifeline during a deeply isolating experience. As we worked together, conversations highlighted the staggering impact of traumatic pregnancy outcomes and the vital role CRADLE plays. Their programmes, such as CONNECTED counselling and outreach, ensure no one has to face this journey alone. Anne, our director and CRADLE trustee, shared: “By combining efforts, we create something greater—a community of support that lasts.” Andy Spooner, managing director of AS Lean Solutions Ltd reflected on the experience. “It’s humbling to think that something as simple as a toothbrush or a soft towel can restore a sense of normalcy to someone struggling.” Sutcliffe associate, David Owens added: “It’s not just about the items—it’s about showing people they’re seen, valued, and supported.” BOLD B2B founder, Kerri McKenna shared: “No one should feel alone during such a vulnerable time. These small acts of kindness mean the world to someone in pain.” Anthony Conroy, director of Markhams, shared, “It’s easy to get caught up in our day-to-day responsibilities, but giving back like this puts everything into perspective. These bags are a lifeline to someone who may feel completely alone.” Chris Mellor, Construction Director of M&Y Maintenance and Construction reflected that Charity work empowers both the recipients and those who volunteer. Recipients gain access to resources and opportunities that improve their lives, while volunteers experience personal growth, increased self-worth and a sense of purpose. As the final bag was zipped, Ed Carroll, Managing Director of RE:GEN North West, expressed his admiration for CRADLE’s work. “This charity addresses a void many of us don’t even realise exists until it touches someone we know. It’s an honour to support their efforts.” To CRADLE and everyone working to make a difference, thank you for reminding us of the strength in compassion and collaboration. If you are in need of any support, please visit CRADLE's website today: www.cradlecharity.org #MentalHealthAwareness #CRADLECharity

I started 2024 by looking back at what I'd learned about why we do what we do over my 25 years with our business. I'm ending this anniversary year with a retrospective of a few of the memorable projects that I've been involved with over the years and why they stand out. I could have added loads more, these are just a few highlights. Featuring: BAM UK & Ireland | The City of Liverpool College | The Duchy of Lancaster | Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust | OnSide | Morgan Sindall Construction | Liverpool City Council | Chorley Council and more.
