🌐 At STOP THE TRAFFIK Group, we are constantly seeking innovative ways to leverage data to disrupt human trafficking networks. Traffickers are continually adapting, and so are we. With the power of technology, we're staying one step ahead. 🤝 The support of partners like X Cyber Group (XCyber®), a leader in cybersecurity intelligence, is essential for our work. X Cyber Group (XCyber®) "donated" one of their cutting-edge tools to help us uncover invaluable insights into potential trafficking activity, significantly strengthening our intelligence capabilities. In May, we uncovered a phone number connected to over 300 ads on adult service websites. By running this data through X Cyber Group (XCyber®) 's tool, we identified several IP addresses associated with locations outside Europe – even though the ads were targeting European cities. We believe we may have uncovered a trafficking ring and have shared this intelligence with law enforcement for investigation and to enable safeguarding action. X Cyber Group (XCyber®) 's support goes beyond a gift of technology—it's an investment in a future free from human trafficking. Their tools enable us to enhance our data intelligence, improve security, and respond faster than ever before. 💡 We cannot and will not spot trafficking alone. We encourage other organisations to follow the lead of X Cyber Group (XCyber®). There are many ways to contribute beyond financial donations. If your organisation has technology that could support our mission, please reach out. Together, we can create a world where no person is bought or sold. #EndHumanTrafficking #SocialImpact #DataForGood #TechForGood #Collaboration

At STOP THE TRAFFIK Group, empowering people to share their stories and insights is at the heart of our mission to inspire action. We’re proud to share the story of our new CEO, Rebekah Lisgarten, and the pivotal moment that sparked her commitment to fighting human trafficking. In Episode 3 of My Epiphany, a series by The Anti-Slavery Collective, Rebekah reflects on a life-changing experience from her teenage years. A chance encounter with the book Slave Girl—picked up at a supermarket—revealed an unsettling truth. What she assumed was fiction turned out to be the real story of Sarah Forsyth, who, at just 17, was trafficked from the UK to the Netherlands. Rebekah’s dedication has taken her to the frontlines, working directly with trafficking survivors in the UK, Greece, India, and Cambodia. Her five years on STOP THE TRAFFIK’s Executive Team were instrumental in shaping our global operations, and in October 2024, she stepped into her role as CEO. Thank you so much Oasis UK for the opportunity to talk about our work STOP THE TRAFFIK Group. It's important to collaborate in this space, because we cannot stop what we cannot see!
"We cannot stop when we cannot see" — Lucrezia Bosio, Data Engagement Manager at STOP THE TRAFFIK Group. It's the last day of Black History Month UK. To conclude we reflect on findings from our STOP THE TRAFFIK Group teams revealing that Black people and other ethnic minorities are disproportionately affected by human trafficking. Yet, at the same time, there is a large gap in the data when it comes to documenting these cases worldwide. How can you reclaim a narrative when, according to the data, you don’t actually exist? 🌍 This week, our President of Traffik Analysis Hub, Neil Giles, had the privilege of attending the 12th INTERPOL Global Conference on Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling in Belgrade, Serbia. 🤝 The conference was excellently organised, featuring a broad range of expertise and strong cross-sector attendance. It provided a valuable platform for experts, practitioners, and policymakers to collaborate, share best practices, and address the evolving landscape of human trafficking and migrant smuggling. Neil contributed as a panellist, exploring how technology can be leveraged to disrupt trafficking and protect vulnerable communities. We’re proud to participate in these vital global discussions and to continue advocating for innovative, collaborative solutions. #HumanTrafficking #STOPTHETRAFFIK #TechForGood #INTERPOL

Senior Programme Manager at STOP THE TRAFFIK | Leading Intelligence-Led, Data-Driven Counter-Trafficking Initiatives
Last week, I was invited to speak at a roundtable led by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), hosted at the Bank of Greece. The conference focused on the role of the financial sector in detecting and preventing trafficking in human beings. It was an honour to speak virtually in front of a diverse group of stakeholders, including the Secretary General for Justice, various financial institutions, financial intelligence units, and criminal justice practitioners. During the session titled 'Emerging Threats – Tools for Intelligence and Investigations', I shared insights from my experience training financial institutions globally on how to identify and combat the proceeds of crime. I also highlighted our intelligence package at STOP THE TRAFFIK Group, Exploitation Analytics, which assists financial institutions in strengthening their #AML efforts. Thank you to Tarana Baghirova for the invitation, the Bank of Greece for hosting, the Hellenic Financial Intelligence Unit, and all participating institutions for their collaboration in this important discussion.

🌍 A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Volunteers! 🙏 Over the past month, STOP THE TRAFFIK had the privilege of working with an incredible team of 14 dedicated volunteers led by Swati Gupta, our Data Scientist who is deeply committed to our #mission of fighting human trafficking and #ModernSlavery with the power of AI. Together, they collected and processed 500+ data points by web-scraping real blogs, articles, and news sources from around the globe. Their contributions are crucial in enhancing our Traffik Analysis Hub—a platform that harnesses AI to combat #HumanTrafficking worldwide. Our #volunteers worked meticulously, interpreting sensitive data while adhering to established protocols for data preparation and handling. They gained real-world insights into Natural Language Processing (NLP) and how AI can drive positive change. From data validation and manual classification to supporting in the process of machine learning model development, their efforts have made a significant impact. A special #thanks to our amazing volunteers: Nina Lindsay Swapnil Sharma Martina Carlino Shivam Gupta Zoi Matsantoni Oliver Thomas Manish Gawade Camila Cunquero Ankita Gupta Alkida Dautaj Ph.D Hollie Shooter Ellie B.
