I had the privilege of speaking about the Future of Money at #websummit The message I delivered was simple: It is time we explore Intra Africa trade routes & tap into unifying & simplifying payments into Africa. With a population of over 1.25 billion sub-Saharan Africans and 57% still unbanked; it is time we do our part to support the vision of the African Union (African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) & the Pan-African Payment & Settlement System - PAPSS. I also shared on how straitPay; a digital neobank, is simplifying this process and connecting Africa to the world - one bridge at a time… I came across a quote from Elon Musk that resonates with me: “when something is important enough, you do it  even if the odds are not in your favour”… Many thanks to the organisers of #websummit for giving us the opportunity and being part of the solution.
