About us

Stratford Padel Club (SPC) is the largest padel club in the UK, with 9 indoor courts and over 31,000 registered players, set next to the iconic location of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. At SPC, we believe that padel is not just about competition and skills, it’s about making lasting connections. While the thrill of the game initially draws players in, it's the lasting bond and camaraderies formed that make them lifelong members. We pride ourselves on building a welcoming community united by a shared passion and driven by acceptance, inclusion, and a great sense of belonging. On our courts, high-fives outnumber fist-bumps. Laughter echoes louder than grunts. And post-match beers taste better alongside friends. Here, whether you're a seasoned padel pro or a complete novice, you'll find unwavering support on your journey of growth. Come for the game, stay for the people!

Yesterday we were on a mission round the streets of London to recruit people for a charity padel tournament in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, a charity whose goal is to provide care for children facing life-threatening illnesses. I am working with the team here at Connecting Experts to host London’s biggest corporate padel event at Stratford Padel Club on Friday 28 March. What can you expect on the day? Some healthy competition and maybe a few questionable shots… There will be music, food, drinks and lots of raffle prizes to be won. Trust me when I say we have some incredible prizes to reveal! Do you play padel or know someone who does? We’re looking for pairs to join us for a lovely day out, all while raising lots of money for this fantastic cause. For more details on how to participate or support the event, please drop me a message! #PadelTournament #CharityEvent #Marketing

    Director @ Metric RE

Stratford Padel Club is now operating 9 courts at 100% occupancy (photo taken at 11.30am this morning) with group bookings blocked out months in advance. What's the secret? The best coaches in the country, indoor facilities allowing competitive matches all months of the year, corporate bookings, international tournaments and most importantly of all, a community spirit. Metric RE is retained to find new sites (plots of land or existing buildings) across Greater London. Please get in touch with any opportunities... #padel #ukpadel Tom Worsley Anka Mandleson

Sales Director at Portable Venues Group - T/A Smart Space Instant Buildings at Portable Venues Group -

We’re so proud to be part of one of the most longstanding London clubs Stratford padel. A real trailblazer in the UK Padel scene. I remember meeting Javier on site, and at that time I didn’t even know a thing about padel. London was still in the euphoric state after the Olympic Games, and being part of that legacy, just shows how long this club has been operating. Having buildings that are designed to last the test of time may not seem important when you first look at starting a padel club, when the initial outlay is so much, but this proves if you buy quality it pays you back and having the option of long term rental, hopefully going forward will allow many more clubs to spring up in the UK. I strongly recommend the paella and this is social padel done at its best. It’s just a bit sad it’s padel is not over in Paris at the moment (it’s only a matter of time) Javier Fernandez Aguirre it’s always a pleasure working with your team, and a pleasure to work with. If anyone needs a building for padel let me know, rental or purchase.

Had an amazing experience working as a physiotherapist during the FIP Rise Padel Tournament at Stratford Padel Club! 🎾 It was a privilege to be part of such a fantastic event, providing support to some incredible athletes. Huge congratulations to Christian Murphy, GB's No.1, and his partner Alberto Garcia Jiminiz for winning the tournament – what a performance! 🏆👏 A special shoutout to the wonderful staff at SPC, whose hard work made the event run smoothly. It was also a pleasure meeting John Leach and learning more about his fantastic work with the GB Padel Team. Exciting times for the sport! 💪 #Padel #Physiotherapy #SportsPhysio #TeamGB #FIPRise #LTA BAS3LINE

A couple of weeks back I talked about organising Townhall Calls to discuss, evaluate and plan next steps regarding certain pillars of the UK padel ecosystem. Well, since holidays are over, here we go.... CALL 1 (of 5) TITLE: INCREASING THE NUMBER OF PADEL COURTS IN THE UK DATE & TIME: Thursday 12th Sept 6pm UK time (provisionally for 2 hours) WORKING AGENDA: 1. WHERE ARE WE NOW & WHY 450 courts concentrated in South? % of courts private, public and hybrid? Obstacles: planning permission, regulations, noise opposition, available indoor venues near footfall 2. WHERE DO WE WANT TO BE & WHY What is the target number? What is the target distribution across the country? Do we want the % of private, public and hybrid to meaningfully change?  Do we expect accessible public courts? What is the finance & build model? Who manages these? Smoother, easier, faster, more knowledgeable landlord approval and planning approval process 3. HOW DO WE GET THERE How do we get more private, public, hybrid courts financed and built? How do we get the benefits communicated to the relevant audience? Do we focus on existing tennis and sports facilities to convert existing areas? Should we maintain/certify standards of builds and how (quality assurance/safety)? Should we coordinate the building and location of courts and who should be the coordinator? How do we educate landlords? How do we educate planning permission teams? How do we allay NIMBY concerns? 4. LTA What role do we expect the LTA to play in any of the above? Supervisor? Planner? Financier? Subsidiser? Endorser? Certifier? Communicator? Lobbyist? Is it better for an alternative coalition to drive and deliver any of the above? NEXT STEPS If you would like to join this call, please forward your email address to me, either in the comments, or feel free to direct message me it, and I will add you to a Google Meet call. The Working Agenda is just that, so also, feel free to suggest other aspects of the topic that you feel we need to address. Of course the Townhall itself will be fluid and flexible. Looking forward to the conversation next week!

  • We will be actively supporting Alexander Inglot in all these conversations, which will hopefully drive a meaningful agenda for both the LTA and the operators. From our perspective, there are three topics of major interest that are stifling growth: 1) Planning regulation - with a more open minded Government, there's now a role for the LTA and the industry to lobby to ease planning regulations, including building indoor structure on land dedicated for sports, like Metropolitan Open Land; 2) accelerating coach development, the industry needs 3000-4000 coaches trained per year to satisfy the demand and ensure better standard of padel coaching. It's the lack of quality home grown coaching that stops us from expanding outside London; 3)talent pipeline - we have first hand experience on the lack of support talented juniors like Oliver Grantham experience.

We need to talk about #padel in the #UK. More. But it's also high time to do more. I've done a few posts in the last few months about my views on #Britishpadel and its relationship with LTA. It's time to do something more about it. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? So even though I am a fairly fresh face to the scene, I want to organise something. I want to organise a series of calls, each focused on specific UK areas of focus and perhaps concern. WHY? My objective is broadly to understand what the scene thinks is working, what is not working, why it's working or not working, what more needs to be done and who should do something about it. WHO SHOULD JOIN? The invitation to each call is open to stakeholders in the UK scene, or even those who think they have relevant expertise or perspectives that could help the UK scene. WHAT ARE TALKING ABOUT HERE? The topics of the separate calls I want to organise are currently: 1. Increasing the Number of #Courts: Looking at Court and Club Building 2. Increasing the #Talent: Looking at Top Talent today and the Pipeline for Tomorrow 3. Increasing the #Participation: Looking at #Amateur Circuits and Tournaments as well as Programs (Kids and Adults) 4. Increasing the #Visibility: Looking at Marketing and Promoting the Sport More Broadly 5. Increasing the #HumanResources: Looking at #Coaches and Coaching Initiatives That is what I am starting with. If anyone feels I am missing any key area or focus, let me know and I will see whether it warrants an extra call or can be incorporated in the agenda of any of the above calls. IS THIS JUST A CHAT OR IS SOMETHING GOING TO HAPPEN? The point is to share view points, align to the extent possible around concerns and priorities, next steps and responsibilities. From there we can, as a scene look at assembling an interest group, or a coalition with objectives, or develop a feedback process into the LTA. I haven't got a prescribed outcome. But I do know a lot of people want to see improvements, they want progress, they want to feed into that and they want meaningful and trackable action. So let's get started. NEXT STEPS If you want to join any or all the calls, please #follow me (as I will launch the separate calls soon with draft agenda points) and #comment below so that I can have you on my radar and #share with others you think might want to participate in one or some of the calls. Thanks
