About us
We couldn’t bring ourselves to use the mediocre alternatives to plastic straws and soggy paper isn’t our style. That’s why we’ve lovingly engineered a super smooth, naturally golden straw to be strong for over an hour, biodegradable and flavourless. It’s called a Stroodle. Stroodles is not just another straw company! Stroodles is a movement. Stroodles is here to help fight plastic waste and straws are just our first channel of choice. We want to inspire the world and show how easy it is to do good – with just one Stroodle at a time. With Stroodles, you don’t have to change behaviours and compromise on your drinking experience. By stroodling your drink, you can do good, the easy way. We call this "drink-easy". But our impact goes beyond the environment. The Stroodles that don’t meet our high-quality expectations get donated to food banks through our partners at City Harvest. And with the help of "Work for Good", a share of Stroodle’s sales is donated to charities, such as Ocean Plastic, who help us fight plastic waste. Make a Change. Make a Stand.

Our morning or afternoon cups of coffee doesn’t need to cost the earth… This Christmas season - we are trying to encourage our customers and other businesses in hospitality to reconsider producing and using festive single-use cups. Just respectfully … no. Why? The U.K throws away roughly 30,000 tonnes of coffee cups waste each year and an additional 3 million tonnes of waste produced around Christmas time (That’s not just coffee cup waste). No thanks. No over-ordering, stock pilling, and dumping in landfills come January. That’s why we are encouraging customers and others within industry to consider Stroodling their festive caffeine fixes, mulled wine serves, hot chocolates and much needed hot drinks with our edible cups. Last Christmas we made a big impact at Christmas markets and with our customers - and this year we are working with even more - and that impact will make a small Stroodly difference. Keep an eye out for our edible cups when out and about this Christmas 🎄 If you want to Stroodle this festive season - click the link below to explore our range below ⬇️ 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eZiQznv 📧 You can also email our team of Stroodlers at info@stroodles.com to learn more about our products, request samples or place a Stroodly order - look forward to hearing from you 💛

‘Paper straws in McDonald's restaurants, which the company described as ‘eco-friendly’, actually can not be recycled.” 🤔 Time to que the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme music. McDonald’s uses about 1.8 million straws a day in the UK - which is about 657 million straws per year. Going green means actually making a change that positively impacts our environment. Maybe in 2034 McDonald’s might discover that a sustainable straw does exist in the form of a Stroodle #Pasta or #Rice straw. There are a few quotes we could take from Larry David that perfectly sums this up - but we don’t think it’s entirely appropriate 😄

How do you like your eggs? Stroodled! 😉 Yep - this past weekend we put our cups to the test at brunch and the outcome … Deliciously crunchy! 😋 Poached egg, crispy bacon, house made relish and Zaatar in one of our edible Stroodly cups 💛 It was the perfect way to Stroodle this past weekend 😊 Safe to say our cups are for more than just a good cup of Joe 😄 All finished off with a nice weekend dessert and a coffee fix (Served in one of our Stroodly cups). We hope you all had a wonderful weekend Stroodlers and here’s to a new week!

Earlier today we got tagged in a post on LinkedIn. And it really got us thinking - so rant STARTED. This is COP. And a symbol of the problem with this and previous COP summits. These 4 food items on small side plates cost this attendee who tagged us £75, served to delegates on plastic plates with single use plastic cutlery. All around COP you see signs and slogans that say ‘Solidarity for a Green World’ and keeping the planet below 1.5C. Over and over it seems that the people running these events and summits fancy themselves as the saviours for some of the world's biggest environmental problems. But yet can’t be bothered to do the boring and menial sustainability actions. Conferences and tiresome speeches won’t solve this problem we find ourselves in. It is the people on the ground, the sweat of every person working on making businesses cleaner, the innovators and creatives finding better ways of doing things and sharing their ideas. We need to stop looking up and look to our sides for the people who have the drive and tenacity to really make change. At the very least - especially at a COP summit - you would think single use items such as plastic plates, forks, spoons and knives would be banned. Big actions and soundbites aren’t enough. Going ‘green’ means making small everyday changes that make a big difference. When we got tagged in this post - it served as a reminder of just how slowly we seem to be making necessary changes. Shoutout to this Stroodler at COP for thinking of Stroodles when having lunch. Maybe next year COP organisers might serve as an example and ensure as many aspects of their summit are as sustainable as possible. A good start? STOP USING SINGLE USE PLASTIC ITEMS LIKE SINGLE USE FORKS and PLATES. Argh 😫 Events catering is always such a missed opportunity to showcase local, showcase sustainable, and showcase innovation in action. Rant over. NEW FLAVOUR POD CREATION BY CHEF Alan Paton 😍 Thanks so much Alan Paton for this beautiful new "Flavour Pod", where you integrated our 50ml STROODLES - ECO TABLEWARE wheat cracker bowl to be an integral part of the dish, thereby complementing flavours and textures. The packaging and food merges into ONE AMAZING DISH. For the recipe, please hit up Alan-Stroodle. It is a goose confit, chestnut streusel, red wine pickled cauliflower, iced leeks and a satsuma jam 😋 Are you a chef and want to create a unique Flavour Pod creation? Get in-touch with us! Join the Stroodles Movement and together we can change the sustainability narrative and make it fun, immersive and engaging! 💛
