Microsoft recently removed several widgets from the Microsoft Store, including Calendar and To Do. In some regions, the Photos, Microsoft 365 Feed, and Family widgets have also been temporarily taken down. Microsoft are doing this so they can improve the Windows 11 widgets board, with the intention of making widgets more useful and user-friendly. Widgets can be powerful tools for businesses. They bring essential information - like calendars, tasks, and key updates - right to your desktop. And they’re handy for quickly checking the important stuff without having to switch between apps. While these widgets are unavailable, Microsoft are encouraging people to explore other options in the Store. If you rely on widgets for your daily tasks, keep an eye out for their return. Do you and your team use widgets? #Microsoft #Widgets #ProductivityTools

Big news if you love Teams. It's about to get even smarter with some powerful new upgrades. One of the standout features due to roll out in 2025 is improved transcription and translation capabilities. Teams will support 51 spoken languages and 31 translation languages – so you’ll be able to transcribe and translate conversations in real time, whether your meeting is in English, Spanish, or Mandarin. Once your meeting is over, participants will get an automatic recap in their chosen language, complete with a detailed transcript. There’s also a great new Copilot summary feature coming to Teams, which will let you see a quick overview of documents shared in chats. Only those with file access will be able to view the summary, and it’ll follow the same sensitivity rules as the original file, saving you time while keeping documents secure. If that’s not enough, Teams is also integrating with Storyline. This will let you and your team see updates, share ideas, and stay in the loop about what’s happening in your business, all within the Teams app. These updates are just some of the ways that Teams is evolving into a more inclusive tool for businesses of all sizes. Are you using Teams in your business yet? We can help you make the most of it. Get in touch. #Microsoft #Teams #NewFeatures

Microsoft have revealed some exciting AI-powered updates for Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint – all thanks to Copilot. In Excel, the new “start experience” lets you tell Copilot what kind of spreadsheet you need, such as a budget sheet or sales report. Copilot will then suggest a template and even customise it with headers, formulas, and visuals to kickstart your work. In Outlook, Copilot can analyse your calendar to find the best times for meetings or focused work. It can even draft meeting agendas based on your goals, helping you to stay on track. As for PowerPoint, Copilot is introducing Narrative Builder, which lets you create a polished presentation complete with speaker notes, animations, and a branded design in minutes. It can also translate slides into 40 languages without changing the design of your slides – a huge win for international teams. Microsoft recognises that AI is changing how we work, and this is just the beginning. These new features have already started to roll out, with Outlook’s update already available, and the Excel and PowerPoint features coming very soon. These tools are designed to make your workday easier, save you time, and boost productivity. Which one would benefit your team the most? #Microsoft #Copilot #ProductivityBoost

Windows 11 might be getting a fun yet practical update – in the form of a new emoji button right on the taskbar. While it might sound light-hearted, it could actually be a useful feature for businesses. Currently, you can access the emoji panel using a keyboard shortcut (“Win + .” or “Win + ;”), but the new taskbar button would make it even easier. Emojis are a key part of communication today, and not just for casual chats. A quick thumbs-up or cheerful smiley can help clarify tone in messages, especially for remote teams where written communication can feel impersonal. The taskbar button could also be a welcome addition for people who prefer things to be a click away, rather than having to remember keyboard shortcuts. It’s also great if your employees work on tablets without keyboards. It’s a small change that could have a big impact on efficiency when you’re firing off messages, updating documents, or even posting to social media. Microsoft are still testing this feature, but it’s one more example of how Windows 11 can help you keep things simple. What’s your take on this one? Would you and your team use the emoji taskbar button? #Windows11 #Emojis #NewUpdate

Did you know a computer once won "Man of the Year"? Back in December 1982, Time Magazine did something groundbreaking… They named the personal computer their "Machine of the Year" (a first for a non-human). At the time, the PC was revolutionary. It was able to connect to other computers through networks (the early internet) and could send something called “electronic mail”, which we now know as email. In the early 1980s, the PC was beginning to transform everything from business and communication to how people thought about the future. The huge potential of this technology had only just begun to be realised. Sales were skyrocketing, doubling every year from 1980 to 1982 – and people predicted PCs would soon be as common as televisions… For businesses, the PC represents the start of a tech revolution that still shapes the way we work today. Whether it’s automating tasks, managing data, or helping with remote collaboration, the PC laid the foundation for the tools we now can’t function without. This story reminds us that technology isn’t just a tool; it’s a driving force for change. When did you get your very first PC? #TechHistory #PC #ManOfTheYear
