🚢 Seahaven in Action: Evacuation Sets Benchmarks for Cruise Safety 🚢 We’re proud to announce the successful deployment of Seahaven, the world's largest inflatable lifeboat, witnessed by flag and port state authorities. In a real-time evacuation, Seahaven showcased its advanced safety features, providing a unique perspective on the safe and efficient passenger evacuation experience while highlighting the crew's ability to guide and manage each step with precision and confidence. Seahaven eliminates 100% of onboard lifeboat drills and reduces LSA onboard upkeep time from 150 hours to just 10; it significantly lightens the load on crew members and enhances operational efficiency. We also unveiled our Mobile Training Academy, which delivers tailored, working knowledge directly to the crew on-site, ensuring they are expertly equipped to handle evacuations. 🚢 False economies: The true cost of taking shortcuts in fire safety.🔥   Fires and explosions at sea have risen, making up 18% of all maritime insurance claims between 2017 and 2021, totalling €9.2bn. In 2022 alone, there were 209 fire incidents globally - the highest in a decade - making fire and explosion the second leading cause of ship losses, with incidents up 17% year-on-year.   🔋💥What’s driving these alarming numbers? Allianz points to new alternative fuels and the transport of lithium-ion batteries as major contributors. Additionally, there's been a troubling increase in mis-declared dangerous goods, particularly hazardous containerised cargoes. But our fire safety experts, Metkel Yohannes and Jan-Oskar Lid, believe there’s more to it. They highlight that poor compliance and cost-cutting are putting vessels and crews at even greater risk.   Want to get the full picture? Today, on Remembrance Sunday, we reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who have served to protect our freedoms. Earlier this week, four members of our Defence team—proud veterans of the Royal Air Force, Royal Marines, Royal Navy, and US Navy—visited the Cenotaph to pay their respects. Their visit serves as a poignant reminder of the bravery and dedication of the men and women in our Armed Forces, both past and present. Their service and sacrifice ensure that we can live in freedom, and we are immensely proud to support them through the work we do every day. At Survitec, our purpose is clear: We exist to protect lives. Today and always, we honour the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Lest we forget. 🏆 Seahaven Wins Ship Technology Excellence Awards 🏆 We are proud to announce that Seahaven, the world’s largest inflatable lifeboat, has won two Ship Technology & Ship Technology Global Excellence Awards for Innovation and Safety!   The awards come after a successful deployment of Seahaven in Belfast, attended by key authorities, including the US Coast Guard. Launched in 2022, Seahaven revolutionises maritime safety and meets the needs of the growing cruise ship market. Seahaven can evacuate up to 1,060 passengers in under 22 minutes, ahead of the SOLAS requirement of 30 minutes.   This prestigious recognition celebrates the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the Seahaven project.
