The Premier League is to establish new in-house media operation for the start of the 2026/27 season. IMG, operating as Premier League Productions (PLP), currently delivers 6,000 hours of content per season to the Premier League’s 55 international broadcast partners, in addition to a 24/7 content service and long-form content such as magazine shows. The proposed in-house operation will handle international media content production and distribution, previously managed by PLP. Premier League chief media officer Paul Molnar said: “IMG has been a fantastic partner for the Premier League over the past 20 years. They have worked tirelessly on our behalf to provide world-class content and services to our international partners. “During this time, our partnership has been at the forefront of broadcast innovation to deliver top-class programming week in, week out throughout the season. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the SVG Europe France Summit last night in Paris. It was an inspiring evening of insights, innovation, and networking with the French sports broadcasting community. After some welcome remarks from Stephane Hourcq and Abhishek Ranade of title sponsor Tata Comms Media, a case study from Lawo looked at cutting-edge IP technologies used in major events. Next up was a forward-looking discussion with Philippe Gaudion (LiveU) and Patrick Jeant (Yewth Studios), who spoke about the technology trends that will shape how sports content will be captured, produced and delivered in the coming years. Then, Jean-Christophe Albou and Yves Tassel (TVU Networks) delivered a case study on The Red Bull Wings for Life World Run, exploring cloud-based workflows and how they powered a global event for 265,000 runners across 169 countries. Concluding the evenings discussions was a panel on Paris 2024 with Romuald RAT (France Télévisions), stephane alessandri (AMP Visual TV), Nicolas Deal (Orange Sports & Media) and Bruno GALLAIS (EMG / Gravity Media) who spoke about how coverage of the Torch Relay and the Games was produced.
