Last week I had an amazing opportunity to speak about fundraising strategies at the Founders City Link event, which simultaneously took place in London, Berlin, and Dubai. Thank you Aziz Ben Allala and Syrena for inviting me and introducing me to your incredible community of early-stage tech founders. Founders are perhaps the best audience you can have because you see how hungry they are to learn and gather new insights. I am still learning about this industry myself but here are some of the best pieces of advice I’ve received from investors about fundraising: 💡 You don’t pitch the first time you meet an investor. Build a human-to-human connection first. 💡 Introductions from other founders are gold. If a VC-backed founder introduces you to their investor, it carries more weight than an investor introduction. 💡 Don’t ask for money, ask for advice. In a world where everyone is raising, this is how you stand out. Ask VCs or angels for advice that aligns with their expertise. It’s a great conversation starter, and if they like you, they’ll ask you if you’re raising. Excited to see how this community grows and continues to connect founders and investors across borders. There’s so much power in building bridges between ecosystems 🚀
