Creating change for young Londoners https://linktr.ee/tacklelondon

About us

Tackle London is dedicated to creating positive change for young people in London. We do this by addressing Adverse Childhood/Community Experiences (ACEs) through sports mentoring. We are a joint initiative between three rugby charities: the Atlas Foundation, star* scheme and The Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation. Our mission is to empower young Londoners, in communities affected by increased levels of poverty, neglect and social disadvantage. We aim to provide them with the support and opportunities needed to overcome challenges, enabling them to achieve their full potential. We achieve this by working with schools and local grassroots rugby clubs to create an unbroken pathway of regular and ongoing mentoring with reliable, trusted adults. Our coaches go directly into schools to deliver comprehensive educational support. In addition to rugby sessions, our initiatives include mentoring and workshops that foster personal development. These take place during normal school hours, usually during PE classes. Under our community outreach programme, we work with rugby clubs to engage with young people in their community who have not accessed rugby before. We provide all coaches and volunteers with comprehensive trauma-informed training. This makes the club both a safe space for these young people and their families and also a community hub, where all members can experience the transformational power of the ‘rugby home’. Join us in our mission to transform the lives of young people and build a brighter future for the next generation.
