  • If you have a story to tell that is part of a wider project - we would love to help by filming and editing the content to support your wider objectives 👏🏼 This is one of four regional videos to build a picture for the 32 boroughs of Greater London - and there is a showreel video that details the overall plan 👊 Thanks to BusinessLDN for commissioning the filming project 👌

🎬 Want to know what is happening to tackle skills shortages? Our video highlights some of the collaboration that is happening to tackle skills gaps in our sub-region. As well as setting out what our local skills improvement plan (LSIP) is, training providers, employers and students share their perspectives on how closer employer/training provider relationships are better preparing people to take up and progress in local jobs. Our thanks to all the employers, stakeholders and training providers involved in addressing local skills needs, especially London South East Colleges, New City College, Quantum Group staff and students and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for taking part. This video was produced in kind partnership with BusinessLDN by Taking The Pixels as part of a series with our peers at Central London Forward, West London Alliance, and South London Partnership. Local London is committed to supporting inclusive growth across our nine member boroughs and welcomes local businesses looking to get involved and support our initiatives. You can create the community you always wanted 🌟 Christmas is a difficult time for my community, which is why we knew we needed to host a festive event. I myself remember feeling lonely and afraid. I remember relying on the good will of my friends’ families to have a place to crash. I also remember the Salvation Army bringing us Christmas dinner when I was little on a couple of occasions as we couldn’t afford it. I never forgot the kindness of those who came. It always moved me to do the same one day. Fast forward 15 years and we created Lawyers Who Care ⚖️ Despite losing my voice from illness and sounding like a Dalek…I’ll always show up for my people. I dragged myself to London for Friday’s Christmas Party and drank Lemsips instead of festive drinks, but it was all 100% worth it to meet the incredible people I had the honour of meeting. The room was bursting full of care-experienced talent - from all across the country from Liverpool to Scotland! I remind myself of one of my favourite John Mayer lyrics: “Some of us stopped running Some of us went home Some of us don't got one So we'll build one of our own” I couldn’t be more proud of the home we’ve built in the legal community for our people. Thank you to Gemma Creamer and Louisa Foyle for organising, what an incredible job you’ve done to continue mine and Kate Aubrey-Johnson’s vision and create an #inclusive and meaningful environment for our community. Thank you also to our team members Shimron Walters Maleekah Burden Amber Knowles Abdullah Mohammed Daisy Doardo for showing up and helping out - I’m so proud of you & what you all bring to the table. Thank you to Burges Salmon LLP for sponsoring our event, Ms Justice Henke and Stefanie Brown for speaking and bringing endless inspiration and Ric Diaghe and Louisa Foyle for bringing the vibes 🔥 Special mention also to Sarah Jacoby and Kim Emenike Joanna Hughes Taking The Pixels (Stephen Collins, Billy & Jack) - it will not be the end of the collaborations with our organisations! If you want to see what care-experienced people can bring to the table…all you have to do is come to one of our next events or sign up as a mentorship organisation. You’ll be blown away. That’s a promise. Thank you for making me cry, smile and laugh in one night. With love always, Lucy❤️

"I can do that for you! Leave it with me." Sounds simple enough, but starting the week with a little positivity makes all the difference. Thank you Billy Collins and the team at Taking The Pixels for stepping in to help us out this morning! Your quick response, your can-do attitude, and the genuine ease you bring to the process don’t go unnoticed. For charities like ours, where every moment counts, it’s partnerships like this that enable us to support so many people in need. It’s not just about getting the job done, it’s about making the process better for everyone involved. And you do that with heart. Here’s to starting the week on a lighter note, knowing we’ve got incredible people like you in our corner. 👏 Music from Uppbeat: License code: KTFNPXLYODLGPYUH Stephen Collins

  • Another event filmed and produced by the Pixels team 👊 So all those people who couldn’t make it can view a showreel of the day and hear from the speakers and guests 🙌 And what great collateral to promote future events 👏🏼

  • It’s great when filming a project that involves so many interested parties - as we learn a lot about new things that builds on our knowledge in the world of business. Ask us about LSIP and its place in the world of business growth and I’m pretty sure we can tell you the answer 👊

Published only last year, our London Local Skills Improvement Plan - a comprehensive blueprint for bringing employers and training providers together to address skills shortages - is already having an impact.   What does that impact look like in practice?   Hear from Rikshita Khela, Peter Phelps, Terell Sterling, Shanah Feely, Ashley Saunders and Fahim Faruk of Vorboss on the importance of employer-led training, a cornerstone of the LSIP ⬇📽   Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eFVAWCmK

  • Giving back to young people is really important to us - as Jack Olenka talks about. Both Jack and Billy Collins have a lovely way with explaining their journey from school, college, uni and being entrepreneurial.

Connecting your customers to you through video content

I recently had the fantastic opportunity to introduce students to the basics of camera skills during a recent shoot! 🎥 It’s always nice to see excitement around cameras and how they work. I think it’s always very important to know that you don’t always need the best kit to get creative either. Does anyone have something they want to get into but are too scared to start?

  • Have you heard the phrase working from "home home" 🤔 A bit like going "out out" 🤣 We have a home office and when Billy and Jack work from their homes - it becomes "home home” - and as you can see by two separate video projects on their editing timelines and empty chairs 👊 The best thing about it is that Stephen can have a day off from being tea boy and the office stays tidy 🙏

  • A really important project to be involved in, and getting young care leavers thoughts and ideas on film so they are heard - can only be a good thing 👏🏼

Yesterday’s shoot! It was a privilege to be a part of capturing Ealing Councils “Care Leaver Takeover Day”. Was a pleasure interviewing so many inspiring young people and hearing their voices being heard.
